The camel bar is above the camel hotel and consists of an inside bar and a large roof bar upstairs from that. They show a lot of sport including live english football and serve all the usual drinks. As this is part of the same hotel that houses the Tandoori you can also get a curry here.

Dress Code: Anything goes.

.Laid back open air cafe serving drinks and snacks. They can get alcohol but do not have an alcohol licence and are a bit edgey when serving it,prefering to keep the bottles behind the bar out of sight.

Camel Rooftop Bar: Most popular roof in Naama Bay

At the Camel Rooftop Bar, pic taken from website

The camel rooftop is a very easy going and relaxed place. The atmosphere is fantastic. Come here for a few drinks after diving. For some excellent bar food. To take a look at sunset. To smoke a shee-shah, or for all of the above. You'll meet all the people here again that you met on the boat during your day of diving. Usually there is a bit of a breeze at the roof top, so more comfortable than any other outdoor place in town.

In the middle of the rooftop you can take a seat at the bar. The rest of the rooftop is divided in a place where you can sit at picnic tables and take a look at what is going on down in the busy main street. Or on the other side of the rooftop you can sit at cushions pillows, sofa's and hockers.

Ali Baba 2: 50p a Pint

On our nights out in Nam Bay we went to Ali Baba 2, when we first went we asked how much for a beer and they said 50p so of course we were straight in there.
It was Sakara Beer and was very cold. You can imagine we were arguing over who paid for that round.
We went to a few more Bars, inbetween shopping and eating, but could not find any where cheaper, so visited Ali Baba's a few more times.
The last time we went they said they had had to put their prices up to ...............£1 a Beer

Don't book this through the rep. its much cheaper to go one evening and book it for the night you want. The place is built like a Morrocan Palace, we eat a fantastic meal and because we went up and spoke to the manager who let us look around BEFORE we booked actually met us on the night we went, and then reserved the best seats for the outdoor show. A history of Eygpt, with replicas of the pyramids, temples etc, a horse riding show, dancing which lasted over one hour. Then outside to the "night show" dancing, drinking, shopping and of course the smoking of the Sheesha. A great night, good food, entertainment and fantastic service - we are going again this year !

Dolce Vita: Dolce Vita desert party

this was the most unique nightclub i ever visited. It is a open air nightclub located in the sinai mountains a few kms away from namma bay. the music varies and it attracts all the younger guys from sharm el sheikh (age 16-30+) there is a lagoon style swimming pool which curves round the dance floor. so plenty of water to cool off. the drinks are moderatly priced. although you are provided with 2 free drinks upon entry with ticket. the party last year started around 11 and did not get end until the early hours. dont ask when...i dont remember

Dress Code: anything goes here. I went in board shorts and tshirt. alot of people topless. and as usual the italians were dressed up in all their designer gear as were the russians. but the rest didnt bother.

Bedouin dinner

This was a Thomson excursion but I'm sure similar evenings are arranged by all the hotels and by local companies.

We travelled from Sharm into the desert and into a Bedouin camp. This was set up for tourists but had a good and genuine feeling about it - a bit like the "Living History" camps you might find at a Sealed Knot battle re-enactment here at home.

We were welcomed with a cup of hot, minty Bedouin tea and then invited to smoke the hubbly-bubbly. I'd been practising snorkelling all day so sucking instead of blowing felt a bit strange to this non-smoker!! It tasted of liquorice by the way!

During this time we heard the final call to prayer from the local mosque - the only time I heard it during this holiday as usually there was too much music and activity going on. An evocative and wonderful experience.

Sitting in a tent on floor cushions, we learned about the Bedouin way of life, had the opportunity to buy a few trinkets and then enjoyed a wonderful meal - salads, couscous, yoghurt, fish, kofta, soft drink, lovely.

This was followed by stargazing - and the sky was absolutely full of stars and of course there was no light pollution. Massive telescopes were set up to give us great views of stars, of Saturn and of Jupiter. Amazing.

The whole evening felt real, and our party was small which added to the feeling of genuineness. Well done Thomson!

Dress Code: Mosquito repellent is a good idea. Closed, comfortable shoes for walking on the sand (which can be stony). Long sleeves and trousers or a long skirt would be advisable as it is a bit cooler at night.

Having a go on the pipe

We booked this trip through our Thomas Cook Rep at the hotel

We traveled into the dessert by coach which was about 20 minutes from the airport. It was much bigger than we thought there was a stage where the entertainment would take place with seating area around the edge, which consits of big cushions and tables.

We started the evening enjoying a drink from the free bar and than had a good on one of the pipes.

Later we were all called up to help our selves to a 3 course buffet, the food was really good lots of it.

After having another drink the entertainment started, we had already seen some of this at Fantasia they had the same dancers and man who thinks nothing of spinning around for an hour - although here everyone could have ago, there was also a belly dancer.

The atmosphere was good and the reps got everyone up joining in the fun.

To finish the night off we did some Star gazing, we all walked onto the top of a small hill and sat down on rugs then all the lots were turned off. You could see loads as it was dark and away from the lights of Nama Bay.

We went here most evenings before we had dinner as they where selling bottles of Stella 3 for 2 (approx 3.00 GBP for 3 bottles - bargain). The staff where all very pleasant and the seats were nice and comfy.

Pipes were also available along with some lovely looking alcohol free cocktails ( i never did have one but they looked really good)
