~ Scuba Diving in Sharm ~ by Heavens-Mirror Scuba Diving is one of the most popular sports in Sharm El Sheikh. There are many diving centres in Sharm for the beginners and also the experienced. If you are planning on going Scuba Diving in Sharm make sure you check out the company first to make sure they are a legitmate company and are insured and have good knowledge and that you are accompanied by a qualified diver. Without a doubt, Sharm El Sheikh is one of the best diving destinations in the world. It has always been a beautiful place, but never before has it been as famous and popular as it is today. Twenty years ago a diving trip was real adventure for tourists. Divers had to accept a long trek through the desert and setting up camp at the beach before they could go for a dive. Nowadays you can easily go on a diving trip allover Sharm El Sheikh.
All equipment will be included when you book with a registered diving company or they will at least let you know before hand what you need to take with you. However if you are an experienced diver you will know that you can bring your own equipment along with your Padi Certifcates etc.

The Red Sea is among the very best places in the world for diving and snorkelling - and if you're in Sharm you really should take a look at the fantastic underwater world... :o) I've written a "things to do" tip on snorkelling, but here I'll add a bit more info about equipment & such, for those of you who haven't snorkelled (much) before... :o) I'm not at all an expert, but I have snorkelled quite a bit, and I do love snorkelling. Also read my "tourist traps"-tip about renting snorkelling gear when going on organised day trips.
If you're renting gear from the dive shops in Sharm, you should know that the quality of the gear they offer is often pretty poor. I always bring my own mask and snorkel, but my friends rented - we tried several dive shops, and weren't too happy with any of them. If you want to enjoy the snorkelling, the gear really is pretty important - the mask should fit properly, so that it doesn't leak. The dive shop staff *should* help you find a mask that fits, but in *all* the places we were they'd just hand over any random mask without checking if it actually fit. How to choose a mask: Hold the mask against your face, it should fit comfortably around your nose and eyes. Inhale through your nose - the vacuum you create inside the mask should hold the mask quite firmly against your face when you take your hand away. If it doesn't, it will leak when you're in the water - you don't want that, so get another mask that actually fits... :o) Ask the staff at the dive shop if you're not sure - they *should* help you! The snorkel: Surprisingly many dive shops had snorkels without a purge valve at the bottom - the purge valve makes the snorkel a lot easier to clear when it's flooded by a wave. (and there can be quite a lot of waves at many snorkelling sites in the Sharm area). I prefer having my own gear, and if you want to buy your own most dive shops will have a good selection. I would not buy the "mask & snorkel" packs you'll find in any supermarket, toy store or souvenir shop - the masks are wrapped in plastic and you can't try them on, so you won't know if it actually fits, and many of these masks aren't made of silicone but pvc - silicone is softer and more comfortable, and it stays soft. by Tripack My scuba diving centre was Magic Divers. Everything was well organized. As you may know @ Sharm we could take the boat from Naama Bay Harbor or Sharm Harbour because of the reef along the coast. So every morning I took the bus for a 20 minutes ride to one of the three boats : Mundy 1, Rosetta and Speedon. Divesptos are numerous in the Red Sea just have a look to my travelogue and dive to have a unforgettable experience...

hubbys first dive by joolssss If you want to try this for the first time here is a great place to start. It costs about £35 for about an hour, includes your wet siut and gear, and about 40mins under water with a guide. If after this you wish to do more you can go out for day dives at an extra cost ( about £30) .
You don't need tobring any gear its all included. We went to The Camel dive club and they were excellent. Leave a Comment Theme: Scuba DivingAddress: Ras Um SidPhone: +20-69-3600700Directions: Opposite Grand Sharm , or in front of the Grand Palace hotel.Website: http://www.cameldive.com/

Lionfish by LotusV8 Sharm is one of the best divingspots in the world, and You dont need to dive - snorkelling is perfect here A must link (if You didnt press my link in the beginning):www.sinaidivers.com The link is not a commercial but it has some nice tips an pictures!
You can rent all the equipment here, but I think that buying Your own siliconmask will give a more pleasant trip in the water - It wont leak! And please read this: Damage to these natural treasures is due to actions that may appear to be perfectly normal but in fact can and do have serious consequences. For example, a swimmer, diver or snorkeller resting, standing or walking on a coral surface damages the fragile tissue surface of the coral animal. The coral is then open to bacterial attack and disease, and will often not recover from this impact. Beautiful... by Kaysta Once you look into the beautiful red sea, it will be an automatic urge to want to snorkel or dive. You see so many people do it and the dive boats can be seen dotted around the sea. It is one of the best places to dive in the world...I'd reseach the fishes that you can see in the Red Sea before you go, make aware of the fishes to avoid such as the 'Lion Fish'. Plus it is fun to see a fish that you know the name of! I have never snorkeled before, but i took the plunge and got addicted! It was amazing what you could see under the sea! Although the sea is crystal clear and you could see the fish from standing on a jetty...you get to see the real beauty when you are in the sea. It is an opportunity not to be missed...
You can hire snokel equipment - usually by beaches or dive centres. I'd recommend you take your own snorkel for hygiene reasons! Make sure you take a mask that has a fitted nose piece as when i went i just took ordinary goggles and i couldn't stand the water going up my nose. If you are not too confident in the water, don't fear you can hire a life jacket at Naama Bay beach. Theme: Scuba DivingDirections: Anywhere in the Red Sea, just be careful of coral - don't stand or take anything from it, you can be prosiscuted. There is several diving and snorkelling excursions, you can find these advertised by companies or by going to diving centres.Website: http://www.cameldive.com/

Other divers by TinKan As anyone knows we love to Scuba dive and we go every chance we get. I had lived in Saudi Arabia for 3 years and was lucky enough to get to dive on the Saudi side of the Red Sea every weekend all year round and had wanted Dion to see what the Red Sea was like. I still feel that the Saudi Side is so much better that the west side of the sea but it is always a pleasure to dive where the water is just like a bath tub. The dive trips here are a but expensive but every dive is worth it.
Do not forget to bring your dive gear. Leave a Comment Theme: Scuba Diving

When i was in Sharm i went in Sea trip for about 7 hours in the great red sea . the trip was wonderfull and if you go in group it will be so much joyfull . the activity is after go in the boat about 1 hours they stop the boat and they ask if there any one want to swim for about 30 min and after they came back to move then after 1,5 h they stop again and they swimm again but it,s so good because they stop near land and swim to it and back , it,s for me my first time and wish to do it again , after we move and in this time we have some food and then they stop again to have the most beauty activity , it,s swim again but near the Murjan . so you can see it clearly and you can touch it but it,s dangerous so i didn,t but it was the most wonderfull thing i do it . so after we bach to sharm .
If you didn,t have some equipment for swming under the sea you can rent before the boat move and you can ask the boat manager to bring you some equipment . Theme: Boating/SailingAddress: In Nema Bay AreaDirections: Near Hilnan Hotel about 100 m from it
