    Taba

Favorite thing: Taba is just like a small village and there are no major infrastructure around as the life of this small town is just the Border Crossing and the the main attraction in the main town is the big Hiltom Hotel just after the Immigration Area, facing the Beach at the Gulf of Aqaba as it has a casino and most of the players here are Israelis (no Casinos in Israel) and foreign tourists. The Other attractions include the Marriot and Movenpick hotels just after the impromptu bus terminal and the small shops around the hotels. the main attraction of Taba is at the Taba Heights Area where there are the many resorts and villas and public beaches for the tourists (located 20 kilometers south of the border crossing).

Favorite thing: Only Jordan and Egypt has a peace treaty with Israel and where lsraelis can visit from Israel. Taba is the only Land Border Crossing Between Egypt and Israel and can be busy with tourists and christian pilgrims going to Egpyt and to Mount Sinai for the continuation of their Holyland Tours or mundane secular tourists who want to experience the Egpytian Red Sea Riviera at the South Sinai and go on multi day staycations at different south sinai towns like here in Taba or Dahab or Nuweiba or Sharm Al Shiekh.

Fondest memory: You can cross the border into the Taba Crossing into Egypt via the Taba Crossing Point on foot, after clearing Israeli Immigration, you will walk about 500 meters to the Taba Immigration Post in the Egyptian Side and then walk another 300 meters to the large Bus and Taxi Station where your tour bus (or renting a taxi if on your own) will then shuttle you to your destinations in the South Sinai.

Favorite thing: A must see is the small Island called The Crusaders Castle also called The Salah al - din Castle and Pharoah's Island ,so don't be looking for 3 Islands they are all the one.

Fondest memory: The time i spent in the sea and the wonderful Sunrise from over the Saudi mountians and of course the tranquillity of just sitting and watching the Sunset slowly drop below the Sinai mountians, pure heaven!
On photos yet as i used a 35m camera, thank god for new digital cameras!

Favorite thing: Taba is great it`s only a holiday tourist destination but from the beach you can look over to Isreal,Jordan and Saudi Arabia which is truly magical, also if you take advantage of the water sports centre there you can go para-sailing and look down on 4 different countries.

One of the locusts on my car !

Favorite thing: Friday 19th November 2004....

A unique and historic event. Swarms of locusts, moving across North Africa and North Sinai, decend upon Taba at the Seastar Taba, Taba Heights and Aquasun.

    Huge red locusts !!!

    Next day all disappeared !
