The best time for visiting the Sahara is probably late autumn or early spring, at this time temperatures range from 15 to 30°C during the day and from 5 to 20°C at night. You are unlikely to encounter rainfall, but if you do it is most likely in January or February and rarely lasts long.
Do not make a trek in the summer season when the temperatures may pass 50 - 60 centigrade or in the winter months with an overnight temperatures as low as minus 1 - 2 centigrade and without warm gear like jackets, sleeping bags and other cold weather gear you may not survive.
