I really missed this wonderful sports activity as we went on a conducted tour and we had to go out at 6.30AM. For USD$160, you have great 2 hours ride on a hot air baloon on the banks of The Nile river.
This is flown from the numerous cruise ships parked there in the Nile river. In case, you are intersted and have time please do take this activity, you shall remember this whole life. It is normally taken at dawn. Please inform your cruise manager in advance, the concerned people will get in touch with you.
Equipment: Hot air baloon. It is found/ organised there by the baloon operator.

If you choose to stay in one of the many budget backpacker hostels, don't worry. For about £1, you can use the pool at any one of the riverside hotels.
You even get a towel thrown in.
Well worth it to escape the heat of Luxor

On the top fourth deck there was a pool, plank beds and little tables with armchairs for rest under an awning and on the open-air place. The sizes of the pool allowed swimming simultaneously up to ten people. However it was an unusual occurrence. As a rule, the pool was free from bathing people, or there were one or two persons.
Water in pool was constantly changed. Therefore it always was clean and cool enough - about 28 degrees. The main deck of the ship has been covered by a green synthetic carpet. Tables, plank beds and armchairs were convenient enough.

Out on the Nile river banks, if you are careful... you can see the international sunbathing championship hopefuls out working on their tan. Here is a couple competing in the tandem bathing practice.
Equipment: As little as possible

Q: Hi, Does anyone know the best (and most reputable) company that provides hot air balloon rides in Luxor at a reasonable price?...

A: $100 sounds reasonable to me, compared to other prices I've seen. I think I spent at least that much on a balloon ride in Tunesia several years ago. Personally, I'd be...
