 | Luxor Transportation | Tips 51 - 60 of 118 | | We jumped on a cruise ship in Aswan & days later eventually wound up in Luxor. It was a wonderful unexpected bonus to our backpacking trip. We got such a cheap deal we would have been mad not to have done it (£45.00!) . Leave a Comment Theme: Ship/Boat

Mini vans will take you anywhere in Luxor. Each has a set route and can be very confusing. Just pray that one of the passengers speaks English, or write down your intended destination in Arabic (Your hotel will do this for you) Leave a Comment Theme: Bus

The local blue and white shuttlebusses are so cheap you (as a westerner) will never have a coin small enough. They are easy, safe and very friendly. A great route is from the centre of town to karnak and back. wave down and jump where the main road bends sharply north of the catholic church. Get out at the entrance of Karnak. On the way back wave down where you got out and get a pleasent side trip and tour of karnak village before retuning to Luxor town. Pay what you like you will over pay but we paid E£1each way for 2.
