El `Araba bi Sohag Off The Beaten Path

One of the best by-the-Nile-at-night experiences I had all over Egypt was right here, when we were escorted to the Police Club, an exclusive place that resembles a resort. Spacious outdoor cafes overlooking the Nile also offer a SUPERB view of the nightsky. One of the most beautiful nightskies I've seen, where the heavens open up and the constellations can be spotted in a glance due to the dry desert conditions and relatively low light pollution.

If you can, get your police convoy to send you over for an other-worldly break from the bustling town. :)
