  • Excellent Food! Recommended to us from the local guys at reception. It's off of Sakkala Square- just tell your driver- they know where it is!
    REally awesome food and a lot of expat workers go there too from the diving schools. You can eat for 2 and be totally stuffed for 10 euros. The arabic rice is excellent and be sure to order the molookhia and grape leaves and stuffed chicken, and soup!:)
    This is where locals eat!

  • Al Jocker is located very near to the downtown area. It is a 2 floor restaurant on the corner of 3 streets with a big balcony on the top floor and thats where i usually sit to eat inorder to watch the action happening in the street.
    It is not expensive, simple, they have so many dishes

    I liked the clams, rice with shrimps, grilled calamari and sea food soup

    For my dinners I chose the restaurant “Hor Palace” which is situated directly on a beach of the hotel. The fine view on the sea brightened up a waiting time of preparation of dishes. Certainly I have chosen fish dishes.

    In day of arrival it was a grill fish. I have paid for it together with fresh juice 45 LE ($9). In day of departure it was a fried fish. It coasted 50LE ($10).

    At our hotel-restaurant the chefs of the kitchen always prepared something special for the guests.
    Instead of woodcarving they did foodcarving.
    It was nice to see what they did with a pumpkin? real art.
    And it was always a surprise what to find in the restaurant.

    Egyptian-Lebanese restaurant, à la carte, open for lunch and dinner.
    Smoking and no smoking section.
    From outside the restaurant looks like a beouin tent.
    There's also a separate section where you can drink mint tea and smoke the shisha pipe (for free).

    Tabbouleh, houmous, falafel and lots of dishes on the menu that I had never heard of. Lots of fish dishes, a few preparations with lamb.

    "Buffet" for a dinner and supper as a rule is offered to visitors in hotels. First of all amazes an abundance of a various batch, various pies, cakes, creams, mousses and other delicious dishes. Puff pies with almonds, vermicelli with honey and nuts, sweet rice with pistachioes...

    However it is necessary to remember, that drinks are paid. Fresh juice 14LE ($3), beer 20LE ($4), tea 7LE ($1,5).

    This à la carte restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.
    Smoking and no smoking section.
    You can either eat inside or outside on the terrace. The time we were there (March) there were no umbrella's and it could get very hot on the terrace at lunch time!

    Lunch: various (good) pizzas, pasta dishes, salads, lunch menu with fish / meat / poultry and some lovely desserts!!

    Dinner: traditional Italian style ... antipasti from the saladbar (funghi ripieni, prosciutto crudo, melanzano, zucchini, peperoni, pomodori, carcifione, ...), primo piatto (zuppa, brodo, gnocchi, risotto, pasta, ...), secundo piatto (meat/poultry/fish) and dolci ...

    Always a large selection of bread, like foccacia with olives, cheese, sundried tomatoes or bacon (yummie!), ciabatta, pane aioli, ...

  • After shopping downtown one day, one of the shop vendors invited us out for a late lunch. We obliged and he took us to El Mina. I couldn't believe what we got for $6! Three whole fish, grilled, a side of rice, some bread and our drink. Yep. Definitely a place to eat when the hotel buffet gets old.

    The inside of the restaurant is beautiful,and not only that tourist come here, but the locals as well. The waiters are dressed as sailors with funny little hats that every visitor gets. While you dine you listen to some soft music that is very apetizing. If you are lucky, you can get a nice table beside the window and have a view to Hurghada's main street.

    The restaurant is aircondishoned.

    Schrimps and calamari are the best.
