Great new venue in Hurghada, only just recently opened.

Great beach with day cabanas and soft, vibe music. In the evening great bar, restaurant and music.

Very good food, steak was first class and very reasonably priced.

Good selection of drinks on offer.

Great staff and most of all great fun !

Can't go wrong with this restaurant the food is cooked to perfection, the staff are very friendly, the restaurant is on a busy junction on sheraton road and has an open front good for people watching. Always a free drink of ouzo on arrival as a welcome drink

Favorite Dish: You must try chicken cream soup the best soup i've ever tasted. The fried fish is also a popular dish with the british expats, and the best calamari salad in town

Front the Sea Gull Hotel in Hurghada (Sekala, Sheraton Str.) is very nice open air cafe. Especially in the evening, when sun is gone and theres some wind, sitting there is great. The service is very friendly and helpful, the prices are cheap. cappuccino and cinnamon tea deserve recommendation. TV for watching football is available too ;-)

Sam & Tony's Bistro: A Second Home for Tourists & Expats Alike

by npendrell Written Feb 22, 2011

I am one of the many expats living in Hurghada for whom Sam & Tony's is a home from home, It's more than just a restaurant - it's Hurghada's main meeting point.

Tony is the host who ensures that visitors new and old receive the warmest welcome in Hurghada. By the time anyone leaves, he's already made them feel like an old friend, which keeps everyone coming back again and again.

The food is excellent - with the menu featuring staples such as pizza, pasta and steaks, plus a few extra items that us expats miss like a good old All-Day Full English Breakfast and Fish & Chips.

Drinks are inexpensive (which is a good job as it's hard to come here and have just one when everyone's having such a good time).

More than just somewhere to eat, Sam & Tony's offers much more including a book exchange programme, entertainment including the Saturday Night Quiz and Tony and the other locals can't be more helpful if anyone has a question to ask about Hurghada or needs some help while they're in town.

Anyone who visits Hurghada without eating at Sam & Tony's at least once during their stay is missing out on one of the town's most essential attractions (and a welcome relief from the mundanity of All Inclusive 'dining')

    Favorite Dish: Spaghetti Carbonara

Many have asked Tony how he manages to get his carbonara sauce to be so creamy, but he says that he would rather die than reveal his secret recipe. All I know is that this is the best pasta I've had outside Italy itself.

However, the main attraction of the dish for me is that it is made with real bacon - a real rarity in Egypt.

Da Nanni Italian Cuisine: Italy by the Red Sea

    by Court94403 Updated Oct 31, 2010

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Sitting inside Da Nanni and eating here , you would have no idea you are in Egypt. I almost thought I was back in San Francisco sitting somewhere in a North Beach restaurant.

Da Nanni is a nice place to enjoy a meal. The decor inside is clean, modern, bright, and cheerful, the staff is courteous and friendly.

Da Nanni offers soup, salads, stuffed pizzas (calzones), 27 different pastas, 30 different pizzas. Main courses of beef, hamburgers, filet steaks, veal chops, roast beef, and chicken. The pasta is made fresh so bring your appetite and a little patience, they don't make it until you order it.

Favorite Dish: Try the Insalata Caprese with fresh tomatoes, basil and mozzarella cheese or the Margherita Pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese and basil. I usually have my margherita pizzas with fresh tomatoes not tomato sauce but it was pretty good too! (I guess you have figured out by now I like tomatoes, basil and mozzarella)! This meal was excellent. The price is excellent too, I had lunch for about 10.00 USD, and still had food left, I was stuffed!

    Da Nanni is amazing.
Stop by for lunch or dinner if you are ever in Hurghada.

Hefny Seafood Restaurant: Try The Calamari

    by Court94403 Updated May 20, 2009

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The decor is a little unusual it reminds me of being inside a dark aquarium, with dark blue walls that look like water. If you can overlook the decor, do go in; you will not be sorry I promise you. This is another one of those restaurants where the fish is swimming 10 minutes before it hits your plate! You can order in or take out, they also deliver.

    Average prices start at 25.00 LE=5.00 USD to 40.00 LE= 8.00 USD.

Favorite Dish: The Fried Calamari and the Grilled Shrimp

PJ's: an Irish Pub in Hurghada!

    by gaj86 Written Aug 14, 2008

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

If you're feeling a bit homesick, pop into PJ's! Run by an Irish family, the only drawback is that there is no Guiness :(... but there's Stella for 12LE (big bottle), nice cocktails, and cheap good food! It felt good to have a cheese toastie...
They have different things on every night, too, like pub quizzes on Thursdays and "killer pool" on Fridays. All the Brits will gravitate towards it, so if you're missing fluent English conversation! Pool and darts are free if you're buying drinks, and it possibly has the cleanest toilets in all of Hurghada. If you go, tell Ken I say hi! :P

Hard Rock Café: you have to do this!

    by gaj86 Written Aug 14, 2008

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

It might seem a bit ethnocentric to go all the way to Africa and then eat at a chain restaurant that you have back home, but after a few days I'm pretty sure that you will be sick of your hotel's food, and will crave a bit of "real" food and music!
If you're a fan of the Hard Rock anyway, you have to do this. The food prices are amazing... the burgers which are about £10.99 in England are about 390LE, or £3.90. The drinks are still quite pricey, but when you can get 3 courses and 2 cocktails for about twenty quid, it's a pretty good "extravagant" night. The staff are lovely here, too, and they can dance!
Tell them it's your birthday and watch what happens... (hint: free brownie sundae!)... and when the music starts on the speakers, they all get up and dance in synchrony. The souveneir shop is very expensive, but I went there for the food!
Depending on where in Hurghada you are, it might be a taxi ride away from you. Don't pay any more than 15LE for a taxi - that's £1.50 - regardless of how many of you there are. If you're lucky, though, you'll be able to walk down. A brilliant night!
*However - it was after this night that I got a funny tummy. The only thing I had that my boyfriend didn't was cocktails, so it was either the alcohol or the ice in them (made from tap water)... so, be careful!

Favorite Dish: Blue cheese sauce!!! Also, I had steak, which was gooooood after days of sludgy stews and boring rice and tiny bits of beef.

Abu Ashara Markets: When It's Too Expensive , Buy Your Own Food!

    by Court94403 Updated May 26, 2008

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Since Hurghada is a resort town most places you choose to eat may be a little pricey. My suggestion is, if you are staying in a hotel your stay probably includes most meals there. But for snacks-chips, sodas, sweets, and bottled water etc. there are small outdoor cafes all along the street across from the hotels and shops which are pretty reasonable. You can also buy snacks and even groceries at all Abu Ashara Markets they are located all over town. Abu Ashara is like your typical supermarket. There is a location on the Promenade at Sheraton Rd. on the Hotel/Shop Strip.

Favorite Dish: They have awesome barbecue but the best thing in the resturant is fresh squeezed lime juice, refreshing in the warm sun, lovely.

“Hor Palace”: Situated just on a beach

    by Kuznetsov_Sergey Written Apr 30, 2007

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

For my dinners I chose the restaurant “Hor Palace” which is situated directly on a beach of the hotel. The fine view on the sea brightened up a waiting time of preparation of dishes. Certainly I have chosen fish dishes.

In day of arrival it was a grill fish. I have paid for it together with fresh juice 45 LE ($9). In day of departure it was a fried fish. It coasted 50LE ($10).
