by Wafro The Red Sea area is world famous for its diving possibilities and in Hurghada you'll find all the opportunities to arrange a memorable trip. Prices in Hurghada are reasonable and vary between 40 and 80 euro /dive. There are many different diving schools but first check out if the one you choose is PADI licensed. They have the right equipment and technical support. Leave a Comment Directions: INFO Emperor Divers-Hurghada Centre Tel +20 65 3444854 Fax +20 65 3444854 info.hurghada@emperordivers.com

by Wafro When you're staying in Hurghada you should try a snorkel trip. I don't think it is an unforgettable experience, but it is worth a try. Most of the coral reefs reserved for the snorklers are destroyed by snorkelers, so don't expect to see the images you'll see on TV. You'll come across large amounts of colourful fish and you?ll see what is left of the once beautiful coral reefs. A full day snorkelling trip with food and drinks will cost you 30 euros or more. by Wafro A glass bottom boot trip is ideal for people who don't like to get wet or travel with little children. You can enjoy the Azure blue water of the Red Sea and when you are lucky you'll come across some colourful fish and coral. The trips last about 2 hours and will never cost more than 10 euro. by Wafro I think many of the hotels have their own camel to take you out for a ride. When you say the camel is too big or too high, they will find you a donkey and even when these are too high for you.... They'll find you a dog or a chicken to ride on! There is no business like tourist business. You'll pay a few E.L. for a ride, but always negotiate for a reasonable price. Leave a Comment

We went on an organised boat trip from Hurghada to Mahmaya Island - described as Paradise Island - and indeed it was. The boat journey takes about 50 mins to this idealic unpopulated island with beautiful sand and coral reefs just off the shore. We were given 2 hours on the beach before jumping back on the boat to be taken further out to sea where we were given 45 mins to snorkel amongst some of the best reefs in the Red Sea. We were told by others that you quite frequently get to see wild dolphins, unfortunately they were elsewhere on our day. We then went back to the island, had an excellent lunch (included in the price) and allowed another 1.5 hours to relax and do whatever we wanted before catching the boat back to Hurghada. The trip cost 50 euros and included transfers to and from the hotel and lunch. Drinks were not included in the price but were cheap. I would definitely recommend this trip to all budding snorkellers. Mahmya beach resort by JovanB A day trip to Giftun Island National Park is hard to skip when you're in Hurghada - you'll probably have it offered by our travel agent, or you can arange with the boats in the harbour. The island doesn't have any vegetation so beware of the sun, but the beach is beautifull, with coral pieces and see shells sparkled on the sand. Mahmaya Beach is a resort on one side of the Giftun, with nice beach cafe/club. It's nice because it's the only place where you can find shadow, and the view from the "hill" over it is superb. Safari in the desert by belgrade03 Safari is another great thing I would recommend while in Hurghada. Hurghada is practically in the desert and you will experience driving over dunes in jeeps, with several stops in the desert. And the highlight of the day would be the visit to a bedduins’ village. I found it breathtaking to see how these people live in the desert, totally out of civilisation, without electricity, with only one well with some sandy water… There are several “houses”, you’ll see women making “bread”, and you’ll have a chance to ride camels and enjoy a beautiful sunset in the desert. On your way back to Hurghada, you’ll be able to almost touch the sky full of stars since they say the sky is the closest to the earth in the desert because it’s darkness everywhere. Leave a Comment

by evona The beach in hotel Amal. Near of coast there are in water many beautiful colourful little fishes. You can take a boat and visit 3 reefs around of Giftun Island. The coral reefs are colourful and very beautiful. If you don`t want to snorke or dive - you can take a boat with glass bottom and you will see too the beautiful fauna and flora. In Red Sea there are many dengerous fishes: baracuda, stone fish, shark...... so be careful when you are on the reef!!!! Leave a Comment

Egyptian taxi by FRONA Taxis in Hurghada are readily available. Just walk out onto any main road and flag one down, and unless they are already occupied they will stop with a loud screech right in front of you. However, if you are deciding to take a trip to Hurghada from El Gouna, please try to prearrange your taxi with the kind personnel at the reception! Eventhough the taxis are fitted with fare meters, the majority of the drivers don't go by the price on the meter. A reccommendation is to prearrange the price before your trip! Leave a Comment
