You can arrange boat trips everywhere in Hurghada.
In the big hotels or at the tourist centres in the city.
The trip will cost you >10 euro and will last 1/2 - 1 day, food and non alcoholic drinks included.

We went on an organised boat trip from Hurghada to Mahmaya Island - described as Paradise Island - and indeed it was.
The boat journey takes about 50 mins to this idealic unpopulated island with beautiful sand and coral reefs just off the shore.
We were given 2 hours on the beach before jumping back on the boat to be taken further out to sea where we were given 45 mins to snorkel amongst some of the best reefs in the Red Sea. We were told by others that you quite frequently get to see wild dolphins, unfortunately they were elsewhere on our day.
We then went back to the island, had an excellent lunch (included in the price) and allowed another 1.5 hours to relax and do whatever we wanted before catching the boat back to Hurghada.
The trip cost 50 euros and included transfers to and from the hotel and lunch. Drinks were not included in the price but were cheap.
I would definitely recommend this trip to all budding snorkellers.

We took a day boat trip that visited 3 other reefs and docked for an hour at Giftun Island. The reefs were very colourful, but lacked the big fish I was hoping for! On a further downer , there were far too many people swimming in the group and they were always getting in my way!
