If you are too tired to walk, you can take a van, they pass by every few seconds, and beep beep you (even if you don't plan to take it!), everybody says that the cost of a ride is 1 Egyptian pound (7.40 pounds=1 euro), but it is actually 25 piasters (1 pound = 100 piasters), so all you have to do is get in the van, take your route, and upon arrival, pay after getting off, don't allow to be cheated!
A hundred Toyota and Mitsubishi vans are on the streets. Beeping all the time. If they see you walking, they will stop by you and ask you for a ride. Mostly, there are two of them. One is driving and the other one is sitting in the back and invite a people. Like everywhere in Egypt, you have to make a deal with them about the price. Don't give them more then a pound per person wherever you want to go. They will ask more, or, maybe, just continue driving but in a second other one will stop by you. Pay them when all of you company and you leave a van.
"Normal" taxi is more expensive than this one.
