Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Alexandria can be just as hot as the rest of Egypt. However this is the place to catch an occasional ocean breeze. In the evening, carry a light sweater or jacket. Not too many foreign tourist visit Alexandria for extended periods of time, Alex is basically a vacation destination for Egyptians. Put away the short-shorts, bathing suits, and other vacation resort wear when going out in public. Women should avoid wearing clothing too revealing to avoid unwanted stares.

Luggage and bags: Small day bag with zipper, money belt or neck wallet

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Comfortable shoes a must the sidewalks and roads are uneven in many places.
Plastic slippers for bath, beach.
I would avoid white, it's very dusty in many places.
Conservative clothing
light jacket

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Tourista medication
sunscreen
imodium
wet wipes are a must!

Photo Equipment: digital camera

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Beach towel

Miscellaneous: You may want to bring your own sheets, a small pillow and a towel. Some hotels and rental properties have funky bedding/towels. Ours linens are newer and we have a washing machine but we have stayed in a rental that we wished we had one just provided sheet and no blanket in the winter.

Have a small card with your emergency numbers on it and address of your hotel or rental property.

Miscellaneous: Alexandria has a mild weather. Summers are hot and dry, with temperatures between 20 and 36 Celsius. Springs and autumns are mild, temperatures are between 10 and 28 Celsius, but sand storms are most likely to happen. Winters are mild with temperatures between 9 and 20 Celsius. That is why it's best to wear layers of clothing. It's also advisable to carry a bottle of water and wear comfortable shoes.

Important Packing List

Luggage and bags: Its very important to have bags with hard covers to withstand handling at airport and train stations in egypt. Things can get nasty sometimes.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Take monkey cap if going in winter as Egypt is a windy place. Dont forget wind cheaters.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Paper Toilet cover to keep your butt clean in public toilets is a MUST. Toilets are not impressive in most of the places. This was the only place where i used them after purchasing them a year ago.

Photo Equipment: Extra betteries for digital camera is a good idea because scenary is beautiful and camera will take a toll

Miscellaneous: Phone number of Hotel, Addresses, Passport copies

Water please !

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: There are no great health dangers when travelling in Egypt, and if you get sick, people in pharmacies will understand your body language, and come up with effective drugs.
And if this isn't enough, doctors are easy to come across, well-trained, and fluent in English.
If you're careful in the heat, eat in places that look clean and have many visitors, and drink bottled water.
For all people who are drinking water from the tap I advice you : take imodium (loperamidum) or another anti-diarrhoea with you. I promise you that you need it! When it is to bad you can take an antibioticum such as ciproxine (ciprofloxacine 250 mg)
And for stomach ache take motilium (domperidonum). If you have only cramp on your intestine you can take ercefuryl (nifuroxazide).

Photo Equipment: As always take enough films with you !

Miscellaneous: Please don't forget your sunmilk you shall need I promise
