I spent a surprising amount of time looking for postcards of Alexandria. It's much in Alex's favour that there are very few shops aimed only at tourists, and such establishments tended to have only generic Pharonic-Wonders-Of-Egypt cards. I'm under strict orders to send my boys a postcard from everywhere I visit, so views of Alex had to be hunted down.
I eventually stumbled across a stall at Ramleh station that had a good selection of pictures of Alex landmarks like the library or the fortress of Quait Bey, all for a bargain 50 piastres each.
This provided one of those moments when one's faith in human nature, which Egypt can be seriously eroded, is reaffirmed in spades. I'd misunderstood the price, thought they were a slightly steep but not excessive 5 LE and chosen four cards, and was surprised to get a stack of grubby notes given back to me in exchange for my 20. A sharp trader would have read me and capitalised on the situation. I had to tell the man his cards were too cheap. A refreshing inversion of the normal state of affairs.
One of the biggest shopping malls in the whole area of Alexandria Egypt is located just a short drive from the heart of Alexandria. The Alexandria City Centre Mall is so huge that you can buy almost all types of products like designer bags, fashion clothes, stylish shoes, accessories, appliances, and various international brands to name a few. The main anchor store here at the City Centre Mall is the Carrefour, a well known French supermarket.
The Alexandria City Centre Mall also offers sophisticated and contemporary shopping and entertainment complemented by a Magic Planet, a six-screen cinema and a variety of dining establishments.
Shopping at the Alexandria City Centre Mall is convenient and entertaining. Come and enjoy the ambience.
What to buy: Designer Bags, Stylish Shoes, International Brands
Whoever named this mall Green Plaza would have meant to capitalize on the mall's ambiance - stores and restaurants arranged around gardens in an outdoor setting. One of the great things to do here is to sit on the many cafés around the mall and see Alexandria's youth go malling and entertain themselves with the loads of entertainment options - bowling alleys, snooker hall, a funfair, and cinemas among others. These are in addition to mall staples of clotheshops and groceries. The place also has Hilton hotel, and a somewhat tacky Roman-inspired convention hall (for wedding receptions, too?).
The mall is located in Smouha, a suburb along the Agricultural Road to Cairo. Aside from taxi, you could take the minibus to the mall from Midan Saad Zaghloul in downtown Alexandria. It is also close to the airport in Smouha.
Those are the list of Malls in Alexandria to do shopping.

The Green Plaza is a relatively new addition to Alexandria, situated 10 minutes from Alexandria International Nozha Airport. It is made up by the Hilton hotel, shops a cinema and numerous outdoor cafes and restaurants. The Green Plaza is always quite a busy place full of young people and families, especially on a thursday night but it has a calm atmosphere. There is not a lot to do there but sit and watch people go by, but it is safe and clean and perhaps a good introduction to people who are a bit wary of busy areas.
What to buy: A supermarket which sells most of the foods that you would normally find, in your home supermarkets, plus the traditional cheeses, meats and cakes of Egypt.
Clothes and shoe shops
Pizza, chinese, and donut shops, plus more traditional kebab shops
All I can say - be prepared to play the game. There are negotiations for every souvenir item here at the vendor area by the ship and in the city of Alexandria at the local bazaar area.
If you need some jumpers or some other sporty stuff you may better bring it from home ... this sport shop did not have any really sporty thing ... LOL
What to buy: abaya, scarf, underwear :-))
What to pay: not much
