British airways offer non-stop flights from London Heathrow to Cairo.
I found that driving a car was a horrendous adventure, but was a lot better than the bus service which is erratic to say the least. Bus tours are a great way of getting around to see the sights . we got thehotel to book ours and I think that all hotels will do the same. Beware though when driving that the rules of the road in our country dont apply here in Egypt they have no rules at all and scared me half to death.

Wow .. If you want to be assured of a delay - fly Egypt Air to get around in Egypt. On both of our flights these guys were 2+ hours delayed. On the return flight it was 6 hours..

The EgyptAir plane is not too comfortable... I didn't get much sleep at all, despite the lovely eyeshade they provided. :) Make sure to take something right before you leave to help you sleep!

When you get to the airport. You need to purchase your visa stamps...they are real stamps like you would put on an envelope. You can also exchange some money here.

Taxis are fairly cheap and a good way to work out on your negotiating skills...:)

Well, I flew to Cairo International from Heathrow. Make sure you have accommodation sorted out before you go, it's a lot safer.
Just take a taxi to your destination.
