Belly Dance, Cairo

Once in Cairo, u MUST c the belly dancers!
To see the best of the best artists of the oriental dance (superstars and idols for dancers and all the lovers of oriental dance all across the globe) u need to visit the 5 star hotels. witch are usually pretty pricey. theres usually a minimum rate of 250-650 egyptian pounds for the whole deal, includes a delicious four-course meal and the entertainment.
the star will come sometime between midnight and 3am. reservations are req.

DINA (my personal favourite) - Semiramis intercontinental hotel on thursdays and sundays. she is the most expencive dancer in egypt. expect to pay for her fantastic performance.

RANDA KAMEL (best dancer for sure) - the Impress nightclub at the Marriott Hotel on Mondays and thursdays.- see the picture..

SORAYA- performing nightly at the Cairo Shereton Hotel. - brazilian who has come far within the oriental dance scene in cairo.

CAROLINE- the Dabkha Restaurant in the Shereton Heliopolis on mondays and Wednesdays. - Australian Dancer.

LUCY- the Perisiana club on Haram street witch she owns with her husband. - also a very known egyptian dancer and actress.

Dress Code: if your a woman, now is your chace to finally dress sexy :) have a hot dress on.... all the egytian girls likes dressing up. so you should to :)

if ur a man... u should offcourse also dress to impress....

Although touristy, many egyptians themselves would love to see it if i wasnt a tad expensive (20 euros). For that money though, you get to accomplish your goal of boating the nile, a fantastic meal with salad bar, main course, and desserts. Eat your heat out, and then enjoy the exciting show packed with bellly dancing, traditional egyptian whirling durvish, and bayonet bearing team dancing synchronised, etc.

Take a break and step outside on the rails, and enjoy the nile breeze, seeing Cairo from a candid perspective of the water, where it suddenly becomes for the first time peaceful and serene. The cairo skyline and waterfront is absolutely picturesque. Watch the small boat pass by blaring Hakim obnoxiously loud.

The interior is exquisitely decorated. Fit for a king, and then you are sad to return back to land and leave the entertainment, the food and most importantly, the Great Nile river.

I was hoping for a great lot of bellydancing but since i had only a single night...i was guided towards a row of Night Clubs ( which is also known as Clubs)..it is on Al Haram St..it seems to have a musical night along with belly Dancing and all the Jazz..Seems to be very popular with people from Gulf...it has a Entry Ticket which is abou $50-75...this will include Dinner and a Drink...it is an okay okay timepass..However it is recommended only for Arabic Speaking Singles..not a Family environment.

As other attractions of Cairo and Egypt in general, a belly dancing show is something that cannot be missed.

In specific restaurants is something that comes with the menu, but that is just an usual show for the tourists.

A real belly dancing show, the best one, is to be seen only in a couple of places in Cairo and is relatively expesive.

Wow..thats my first impression, on board on Pharaohs, veneered everything in gold, looks so opulent and i felt like a king. Once floating cruise start to board, food is ready to serve, with a variety of egyptian food and of course accompanied with famous BELLY DANCING.

If this is your first trip to Cairo makesure you fill your nightlife with one of the belly dancing and dinner cruise. Most memorable trip.

Belly dance ....this is what i have been planning to see all this while..and yessss finally i get to see it ! Prior bookings need to be made, wear formal dress, ladies...all eyes on you so dress to kill is ok hahahah anyway i always dress sensibly..dont want anyone to stare too much ( a bit is ok hehe). For tourist, it can cost you about 20 usd, but for local i heard its only 11 usd including buffet dinner but not including drinks. If i am not mistaken the show starts at 8pm and it will be cruising the nile river on and off while we can see the whole view from the top of this 3 deck ship. Great experience. Dont miss it.

Dress Code: I would suggest casual smart or formal attire

It was a cruise down the Nile with dinner cum show. When the boat left the pier a 5 piece band entertained with modern western music. But as we travel down the Nile, the traditional entourage came with drums and finger cybals, etc - and there she was. Beautiful, entertaining and talented. Needless to say, none of us could remember if the food was good or not. We certainly went away entertained.
