In Alexandria there's a great fish and seafood restaurant called Samakmak: it's the best in Alexandria, people say. Since we did not visit Alex, we went to its Cairo counterpart.
Favorite Dish:
Good fish, cooked as you like it. It's on display outside the restaurant, in a boat. We chose some tiger prawns and calamari, and had them grilled - they were not as fresh as they claimed, but they were still ok-ish. As a starter we had a delicious seafood soup: it was superb!
