by vesna04 I am very sorry I wasn't able to go there. It was closed due to the renovation. I know I missed the great views but I am aware that renovation was necesary as it was realy in bad state, at least, I was told so. If I ever go to Cairo again, I will surely visit it. Leave a Comment

Cairo tower by marimar_72 This is Cairo`s tower,it was bulit in 1961.It stands in the middle of Cairo, over looking the city from 185 meters high. WE bought the tickets at the gate.It is 32 egyptian pounds for non -Egyptians,kids under 6 are for free.Video camera`s must have a ticket as well :-S. The tower has a revolving restaurnt which can be included to your ticket if you wish to dine there, the ticket will be 40 egyptian pounds( about 7.5 US dollars). The best thing to me was to be able to see the Giza pyramids and the Sakara pyramids from the tower,it was an amazing view!!!!!!!! Leave a Comment

The Tower is 185 metres high, completed in 1961. Legend has it that Nasser used the money given to him by the Americans to buy American arms to build this 'wickerwork tube'. Great views from the top (if its a clear day), but one of the best places to see it (and the sunset) is from the terrace bar of the Marriot Hotel on the east bank of the Nile. Leave a Comment

by Aurorae If you happen to be in the wonderful city of Cairo, don't miss the Cairo Tower, at El-Gezira area, an island on the river Nile. It's 187 m high (like 60 story building!), and 50 m higher than the pyramids at Giza plateau. The base was built from rosy finished Aswan granite, the same stones of obelisks and temples of the pharaos. There is a WONDERFUL, spectacular and unforgettable view from the top of the tower to entire city, it is especially lovely at dusk, when first light begin to appear (se my Cairo Home Page for that view). There is a telescope, rotating restaurant and a cafeteria. The waitors are dressed like ancient Egyptians. It is the best place to have entire Cairo on your palm. by travelife Completed in 1961 on a small island, Cairo tower by the Nile is the most prominent landmark of Cairo city and if you feel like you can go up and have a panoramic view of Cairo. During evening it makes a good compliment of the view of the Nile with boats with different shades of light. Leave a Comment

At 187 meters high, the Borg al Qahira or Cairo tower gives a great view over downtown Cairo. It costs 50 Egyptian lbs to go up there. Leave a Comment

by Cielo_Algaeed A visit at the Cairo tower is one of the things to do in Cairo though unfortunately it was under renovation when we were there. It is said that from the tower you can have a bird;s eye view of the city. There is also a revolving restaurant if you want to dine.

Make sure you time your visit to the Cairo Tower just right. If you want to see the pyramids make sure you get there after the fog/smog has burned off a bit and before the wind ruins your time up there. If you can time it just right you'll enjoy 360 degree views of Cairo from the tower located in Zemalak. There is also a revolving restaurant and cafe you can visit for a fee. 100 EGP for the restaurant and 60 EGP to have a beverage at the Cafe. The tower is open from 0900 until an hour after midnight.

Cairo Tower Views by freya_heaven Inside the 185 meter tower there is a revolving restaurant at the top, for a cheaper option there is also a cafe with the same views. Viewing hours for the tower is 9am to Midnight. I can not remember exactly how much it was to get in, about 5.00 Egyption pounds I think, Well worth it. Leave a Comment
