It's a huge modern creation overloking the city. A real must for any lover of panoramas and aerial photography. When the day is good you will get a glimose of virtually every corner of the Nile Delta, including the famous Pyramids of Giza. Come by night and you will see all the lights of Cairo below you. Cairo Tower. A modern 187 metre-high tower with views of the city from all sides, topped by revolving restaurant.
The Citadel of Salah al-Din. Built between 1176 and 1182AD, the Citadel fortress provides a panoramic view of Cairo from the Moqattam Hills.
The Islamic museum. Includes works of art over the Islamic world.
The Coptic Museum. The finest collection of Coptic art and antiquities in the world, including illuminated manuscripts, icons and textiles.
Khan el-Khalili souk. It largely unchanged since the 14th century.
Near the tower I saw two wedding couples. Of course girls were dressed with white dresses and looked beautiful. But the most intresting thing was, that near girl was going woman and screamed so loud. I was thinking, that she is crying, but as later explained to me, that she experesed her happy, that this girl become married. And these women made very intresting sound, very strange sound, even hard to explain.
Like this doing only very close women to bride (sisters, close friends girls).

As with much of Cairo, in mild disrepair. The pollution-limited view is unique, though.

You can get some nice views from the tower, but make sure you go on a clear day. If it's hazy outside, you won't be able to see the pyramids. Also, the elevator operator will tell you some information and then ask for money. Other than the view, there is really not much to see here. If you have a good view from your room in your hotel, I wouldn't give this destination a high priority. There is construction going on right now so you cannot get a full 360 degree walk up top.
