A good activity and great photo opportunity. Costs around £3 to £4 each depending on the exchange rate. Beware of the hawkers who you can't even escape from when up the tower. Leave a Comment

The Cairo tower is in a very nice area and from the viewing platform you can see the whole of Cairo, the Nile and even out to the pyramids. This was easily the most relaxing time we had in the city, high above the traffic and the crowds giving a welcome escape. Leave a Comment

The Cairo Tower has a nice restuarant at the top and the views are amazing.
There is only one draw back it has only one lift so it takes ages to get to the top then down again, this was in 2003 it might have changed since

Our tour guide tok us to Cairo tower and that was just fantastic. There is a great view and you can sit in their restaurant having your lunch while the restaurant "turns" and you sit there and just view all of Cairo.

The Cairo Tower at 187 metres tall and completed in 1961, is a great place to visit just before dusk so that you can get good day and night view photos. There is a revolving restaurant which offers panoramic views and also a open air viewing deck. Views are great of Cairo and you can see the Giza Pyramids too if it is not too hazy!
Entry costs 65LE per adult (as of Nov. 2008). Kids under 6 are free. Open daily from 9am - 1am (summer) and 9am - midnight (winter).
