A good activity and great photo opportunity. Costs around £3 to £4 each depending on the exchange rate. Beware of the hawkers who you can't even escape from when up the tower.

If you really want to have a view of the city the best place to be is at the top of Cairo tower. Theres a moving restaurant where you can enjoy a good meal while looking down on the city.

We never got up the tower, but you can apparently - the views would be very impressive, especially as it is quite a bit taller than most buildings there.
