The Egyptian Museum in Cairo is a must-visit. It houses King Tut-akh-Amon's amazing treasures.
Tips : Go early in the morning to avoid the crowd.

A crazy old building with little protection for many of the amazing artifacts housed here. The obvious main attraction, but overcrowded with tourists, is the famous mask of Tutankhamon.

The golden chair of Pharaoh – this is only one thing in the Egyptian Museum collection. Beautiful, isn’t so?

There is no extra charge to enter the room but it can get very crowded in there. The sarcophagus’s and the mask are just amazing to see.

The famous mask is on display in the center of his room. It is made out of semi-precious stones and solid gold, there was lot of gold in those days.

There are two rooms of Pharonic jewlery. Those that were found with King Tutankhamun have a more widely known name attached to them. All are exquisite.

The Egyptian Museum is a great place to see with 1000s of antiques from Pharaohs’ time including mummified everything – people and animals.

As an Egyptian I understand your disappointment. A new branch of the Egyptian museum is now being built near the pyramids, it'll be a breathtaking scene, with modern building versus the oldest stand up in the history of mankind. We are waiting for this :)
