local cafe bar: Night time strollings

by croisbeauty

Hurghada city area is totally inattractive place, not much to see around. It is fast growing place and the whole town looks alike an big construction, new houses, hotels and business buildings rising everywhere. And yes, alot of dust all over the place. The main street and the city centre should be more clean, side-walks are few only and in pretty bad conditions. The city of Hurghada definatelly isn't enjoyable for the night strollings, although it look alike pretty safe place. Casual summer cloths, preferably light and made of coton.

Cairo, The Sufi Dance (Al Darawish)

by MikeySoft

This is a free show every Saturday & Wednesday night at 8:30. It last 90 minutes but get there early to get a good seat. Photos are allowed but not Videos. However, I have a small video camera and also took videos.I found about this from a fellow traveler and cannot find it in my guidebook.Defiantly worth while. See the photo for a sign with additional information. At then end of my video, one of the dancers winks to the girls in the audience. Please rate this and my other tips when you find them useful, interesting, or like the photos.

Naama Bay,Sharm El Shaikh

by dusica_stamenik

This place was not exactly I expected. It was nice to get closer to local people and their lives but one visit in Naama Bay was enough for my 10 days visit in Egypt. From one side there were remarkable hotels, restaurants, discotheques, shops, bars and on the other side there was noisy crowd, local people "molesting"you to visit their shops and to buy something.Even if you just look around they will do anything to have your attention...It is easy to go in Naama Bay,there are buses or you can take taxi(always negotiate for the price before you go inside the taxi, different drivers give you different price..it's your choice) I'm not to impressed but it is ok to see this place, after all that is part of the real life in Egypt. There is no dress code in place like Naama Bay,you can wear anything you like.

Maxim: Cairo Nile Dinner Cruise

by fossettes

We took the Maxim Nile Dinner cruise a couple of weeks ago and were disappointed with the food. The family next to us had to send their meals back. It is no longer owned by Marriott and I understand that the food is not the same quality as it once was. However, the time on the Nile was great, watching Cairo pass alongside us and the dancing was excellent. Dressy

Naama Bay, Sharm el Sheikh: Egypt's Las Vegas!

by matt10gonzalez

What's a town that's modern, full of neon lights, crowds, full of action pumping out up and down till the sunrise and most IMPORTANTLY, CLEAN? In Egypt?Sharm El-Sheikh! No doubt about it!Sharm is the place to enjoy and party! Don't come here in the day- it's virtually dead! Come here at night, when the whole town is alive just like Vegas! Alright, the hotels may not be as high-rise and grand as the Bellagio or as stylish as the Luxor and there's no futuristic gambling facilities, (Gamblers beware!) amusement parks and hi-tech simulators (Kids and thrill-seeking people beware!) but hey! It won't really matter! Because in Sharm at least you can say: 1.) It's clean2.) It looks like a Greek isle town (All the buildings are white)3.) And the most important thing you can say: You can say: "Wow! I'm in Egypt!" And if you don't like the crowds, that's alright- no one's stopping you from just...

The Entire city of Cairo!: One of the World's Busiest Vampires!

by matt10gonzalez

You'll be surprised: Caireans are one of the World's Busiest Vampires! Only a few crazy Caireans (and tourists) here love the hot and dreadful afternoons! Everyone sleeps from 11 AM till 5 PM! (Many shops, offices close and have a long break from these hours!) And what happens when the sun sets (Around 7 PM) and the moon shines? Virtually everyone becomes vampires! Offices resume, banks reopen, and Mc. Donalds stays up till the morning! (The only exception is maybe the crazy tourist who exhausted all his/her energy during the day! Could this be you?) You bet many people here PARTY! For such a 3rd world country and a city that struggles with poverty and so on, it's amazing how wild the people here can get! Many people here really literally do shake their butts like crazy (Belly dancing or butt dancing!) with the exotic, instrumental Arabic ethnic music to the fun and disco like Arabic Pop...

Any Cruise Ships along the Boulevard at Night!: Belly Dancing Ships!

by matt10gonzalez

Who ever said those cruise ships sitting along the boulevard where just useless decoration?Well, if you said yes, boy are you WRONG!Those ships are the SHINY DISCO BALLS! They're the beating heart and magic of Aswan's nightlife! Party till you drop here! Inside these monstrous ships are bars, theaters, discos, and even venues for belly dancing!Of course, it's not only entertainment that's aboard these beautys, there are also restaurants, lounges in which you may dine in and relax for a while! (Though it will cost you. Advise: Eat ahead before!)And worried if there's only a few bars suited to your taste? Don't worry! Remember, that Aswan is a cruise ship hub- almost every cruise ships begin/end here! And this is good!Meaning, you'll never ran out of disco fever! (Only if for a rare instance, no cruise ships docked here at night!) And that even makes it better! Most of the cruise ships...

Discos in Luxor

by schat

Discos are abundant and popular in Luxor. Many of the hotels have music at night, or you can go to a local place. Some are rather sketchy, but are usually well monitored by the staff. Some young men are actually hired to bring in business, so you'll probably hear recommendations about where to go even without asking. They usually open by eleven pm or so, and stay open until 4-5 am.

Hyatt Regancy - Taba: Not exactly spoilt for choice

by gabriellefox

You are not exactly spoilt for choice for nightlife in Taba so it is easier to stay on site or visit one of the neighbouring hotels if you fancy a change of scene. The "On the Rocks Bar" in the Hyatt Regency is a great place to visit after dinner. It is a short stroll from the Limoncello Restaurant. I enjoyed either an Egyptian coffee or mint tea and a sheesha on the adjacent terrace first to allow my food to go down before drinking and dancing. "On the Rocks runs a variety of entertainment every night from traditional belly dancing and folklore to a disco with an eclectic mix of modern dance music. Smart casual - whatever you were wearing to dinner is fine.
