Pub 28: Passable Place for an After Dinner Drink in Cairo

by Paul2001

I actually ate and drank at this pub located not too far from my hotel in the Zamalek area. It is suppose to be set up like an English pub but really did not have that feel to it. The beer is reasonably priced here but unfortunately Egyptian beer is not very good. One possible problem here is that the bar can be something of a gay hang out, or that is at least what I read. I did not find it as such and I felt quite comfortable here. Casual

Nile Cruise Ships: Galabaya Evening

by Myndo

You may have seen pictures of that Event on other pages.... Well, the Galabaya evening is the one evening on board of a Nile Cruise Ship, when you go and try to dress like an Egyptian... meaning: you buy one of these long dresses that look like a night gown. Most of them are also heavily decorated (which the normal Egyptian would not wear, I think). But don´t worry, they are very cheap. You can either buy them on board or on one of your excursions or wait to the lock of Edfu and the vendors will come right to the ship in their tiny boats. Galabayas, Belly dancers scarves, whatever looks Egyptian....

Walk on the streets: Night time in Hurghada

by JuliaMac

Hurghada was a small village of fishermen some years ago, and now it is a modern resort. here you can find many small shops with souvenirs, cafe where it is possible to smoke kalyan. It was surprise for us, when we were there .We sit in cafe and suddenly the herd of sheep are running , we have become puzzled and it is a pity we forgot to make pic of this moment. It would be very vividly be looked - town's street, smart cars and suddenly herd sheep !!!!))))

Egypt: Nightlife

by Sweetberry1

Unfortunately I was a little young for any kind of nightlife, at that time.. but I am sure there are lots of fantastic places, that would be very enjoyable.Just seeing the city lit up at night, is enough to make me want to be there.

caleche: Luxor by Night

by edinka

Best nightlife tip for Luxor is to catch a caleche and look around at the city how people living there enjoy their lives.A caleche is easy to be found. Surley, if they see you looking around they will catch you and start to bargain with you.If you jut tell them you want to see around in the city, surely they will take you to "their friends" who want to sell you some local stuff like papyrus or jewellery.

The galabea party

by RENE_CARDOEN

During our Nile cruise a typical galabea party was organized. Our Egyptian guide “Tut” insisted that everybody should wear a djellaba. When the bar opened everyone of the Belgian group was disguised. The stirring Egyptian music, the local wine and the good mood of all the guests without exception, contributed to a successful and unforgettable evening. Djellaba expected

The true Egyptian trembling belly dance show!

by RENE_CARDOEN

Of course a stay in an Arabic country is not complete without a real Egyptian trembling belly dance show. We were lucky; the lady concerned was well fed and her fast hip movements did shake her whole body. I must admit I felt vibrations in my belly too! Strange isn’t it?

Egyptian folk-dance

by RENE_CARDOEN

On board of the MS African Queen, a typical Nile cruise ship, almost every night a special attraction was organized to entertain the guests. The man in question is spinning around, making strange figures with his coloured skirt. I must admire the guy, because at the end of his show, which took about 10 long minutes he wasn’t dizzy at all!
