Nile Cruises: an evening cruising......

by Anita_Porec

We didn't really go out clubbing or anything....but one of the nights we took the Nile Dinner Cruise. It was great.Very pricy however compared to other attractions....20.00 USD for the cruise and dinner (alright) and the drinks were 25.00 LE (usually about 6.00-8.00 elsewhere) .... We didn't plan on it, but there were 2 weddings on our cruise the night we went out.We found out that it was a pretty frequent thing to have weddings on these cruises, but you'd have to book it on a Thursday or Friday night.BTW, the weddings were great!!!!!

Egyptian are muslims, so...

by Kaitlin

Egyptian are muslims, so there's not much alcohol around.Atleast in Hughada you could buy beer (or any other alcohol) only in Duty Free shop. Be ready to visit the shop several times :), since there's only one in town that we could find.Beer was quite cheap in the bars too, around 6,99 LE. In the tax free shop you get it for 5 LE, so.. is it worth the travel, everyone can decide themselves. If you are staying in a hotelvillage further away from the center the prices might be even 3 times higher.

Cairo Clubs

by bpwillet

There are many clubs to choose from in Cairo and many are located in the Giza area. Most stay open quite late almost until 8am for some. The music is a mix between hip hop (US and UK) and Arab pop music. There is at times a cover charge to get in and the drinks can be quite expensive. Go later and you are sure to find more people about. Dress more conservatively than you would back home if you are from the UK or the US. They may have a problem if you are wearing trainers but essentially just go looking nice and you will be just fine. I never went anywhere where I needed a coat and tie, but plenty of cash can be a necessity.

Nile Cruise

by bpwillet

The city lights are similar to any other large city. Neon, advertisments, and hotel windows. But the fact that you are cruising around listening to the waves lap agains the boat or looking out from your waterside table, the Nile at night takes on a different character.

The Beach: Elat, Israel

by LUNNY

Elat, israel has lots of bars - the best were right on the beach. The drinks were a little pricey at some of them, but the atmosphere was worth it. I think there was a nightclub there too - the israelies are very westernised. The israelies are very westernised - very chic. Dont worry about covering up!

Night on the Nile

by bpwillet

There are any number of clubs, and restaurants along the Nile. Some are actually converted boats. Nile dinner cruises are also fantastic for groups or couples and allow you to see Cairo at night. The Cairo Tower is a good option for seeing the city at night or even at sunset. It is high enough to see all the way to both ends of the city on a clear day. I did not notice any specific dress code at any establishment I went to. So wear whatever you feel is comfortable to you.

Bazar area's: Night markets and street life

by Vintom

Don't sit around your hotel watching TV or drinking beers all night, get out onto the streets and sample some real life. This picture was taken in the market area of Aswan and the man is blessing local shopkeepers and stall holders so that they may have good fortune with their sales. Wear some long sleeves as it can get a little chilly and helps you from being bitten on your arms.

Sunset over the Nile: For Romantics or those in love with life!

by Vintom

With the right conditions and the inclination to do it, what could be better than watching the sun set over the Nile. Why not even take a sunset Felluca ride and experience one of the nicest ways to view a sunset.

PRINCE ABBAS CRUISE BOAT: STILL SHEIKING ALL OVER

by BerniShand

Another chance to dress up and be silly, here we are on Lake Nasser with friends, of course none of us drank too much or made fools of ourselves, you can see we all look far too sensible for that ..... cant you ?
