. I order something they call McArabia which is a pita with Falafel, lettuce, tomatoes and sauce. Everyone’s soda is flat and we wonder if that is how they serve it here. This McDonalds has some good views of the city from the second story seats. |

If you want to eat in Cairo at 2 a.m. you can visits Hassans Pizza in Fishali street. You are asked about ingredient you want and have to wait about 10 minutes. Cost is about 5 LE ( 1 euro = 7 LE). |

The funny thing in Egypt, fast food does not taste even remotely like it's American counterparts. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's different. We had Pizza Hut deliver...Yup folks, they deliver. When you call them, their phone system not only gives them the address, but they even know what floor your on. Tipping is expected as well. We also had KFC once on our way back to Cairo from Alex. Don't expect the biscuits. I don't even think they know what a biscuit is come to think of it. I don't have favorite dishes from fast food. We bought it because it was fast, and mainly because Chelsea doesn't get to eat it. She had never had Pizza Hut before so we had it delivered. No pepperoni or sausage pizza's here folks. They put hot dogs on pizza though. Didn't really matter what we ordered as she smothers everything in catsup...yuck! |

The Sphinx is practically in town. This means, if you are hungry, there are a number of restaurants nearby. When you are at the Sphinx, just look behind you and you will see all kinds of different shops and food places. It is honestly about a 2 min walk to any of these places. So do not think that when you are at the pyramids or sphinx you are in the middle of the desert away from food and water. Youre not. |

Food in Egypt might seem a bit different than what you are used to, but it is delicious. As in every other touristic place, they adjust their national kitchen to european taste, but they do not change it entirely. Leaving the Red Sea without trying sea food would be a complete nonsence. It is cheep and delicious.

Lunch or a dinner in the bedouine village is a must when you go on a safari! The food is fantastic and so tasty... It is based on chicken and rice mostly therefore it's very light. Just what you need in the desert! And once again: DO NOT FORGET TO BRING WATER |
