El Fresco: Italian Food

by gabriellefox

I have to admit I was a little disappoited with this restaurant. I ordered a salad nicoise which is traditionally served with boiled eggs, large boiled potatoes, onions and peppers but I received a poor relation to that. Also the service was a little sluggish though they were not busy but the staff were couteous and polite. My boyfriend ordered a spicy spaghetti dish but it was rather bland so I am afraid we can not muster up a favourite dish.

Abu Aly at the Nile Hilton: Variety of good food in a relaxing atmosphere

by midnight_mike

In a place as large as Cairo, it is hard to escape the chaos of the city. Located in the courtyard of the Nile Hilton, Abu Aly provides a relaxing atmosphere. Open from 10 a.m. until 1:30 a.m., the food is neither cheap nor extraordinary. But if you want to have a relaxing meal and/or smoke shisha before or after visiting the Egyptian Museum, this might be your best option in the area. The menu varies from a kofta kabob sandwich to hamburgers. While in Cairo, we ate here twice. I usually don't go back to the same place unless it is really good food, but it was really hard to find a good restaurant in this part of town that was not part of a hotel. There are several other places to eat in the hotel, from a simple deli to formal dining.

El Hussein, Luxor: A taste of local life

by cyprus4holidays

We found this restaurant the very first time we stayed in Luxor and have to admit, it's not the prettiest or possibly cleanest of places but what an experience and so cheap! Five us had a starter, a main course and a soft drink (no alcohol served here) for £7.00 Tomato soup - it's the hottest and most spiciest we have tasted. The tahini is also very good with the local pitta type bread.

"Anubis", Luxor: You have to eat, don't you?

by Beograd

This place was very good. It is on the Nile, so you get to enjoy both the food and this beautiful river. It's called "Anubis" and it is in Luxor. It is most likely that you will be taken here by your guide if you are on a day trip to Luxor, as I have noticed here on VT that a few people have been here on the same occasion :). I can't actually recommand anything here, because I was extremly sick that whole day, and wasn't eating anything, just drinking lot's of water. But, the others in the group had reassured me that the food is very tasty.

In the village: Mmmmm....

by Beograd

Lunch or a dinner in the bedouine village is a must when you go on a safari! The food is fantastic and so tasty... It is based on chicken and rice mostly therefore it's very light. Just what you need in the desert! And once again: DO NOT FORGET TO BRING WATER

Fish house: Seafood

by Beograd

Food in Egypt might seem a bit different than what you are used to, but it is delicious. As in every other touristic place, they adjust their national kitchen to european taste, but they do not change it entirely. Leaving the Red Sea without trying sea food would be a complete nonsence. It is cheep and delicious.

Camel Bar: An English Place with the Egyptian Vibe!

by rachel_sarah

The Camel Bar's restaraunt was situated on the roof, giving a fantastic view over the whole of Naama Bay. The Bar is decorated lovely, with many Egyptian Lamps and cushions, as well as picnic tables for the restaraunt. The food selection was great, and the staff were very friendly also. Me and my partner both had an indian, chicken tikka massala, which i must say was one of the best ive ever tasted! The potatoe wedges were lovely also, huge and real!!!"

Pomodoro: Mmmmmm Yummy Italian!

by rachel_sarah

The best Italian Restaraunt in Naama Bay! It had an air consitioned inside, and an outside area alongside the street and it was fantastic! We sat inside, where the decor and interior was very nice indeed, smart and sophisticated. And that was just the restaraunt. The staff were great, and the food was the best we'd eaten whilst in Egypt! Salmon with potatoes, Lasagne, and the Penne Arribetta were all our favourites!

Felfela: The famous Felfela

by Botitas

No dejeis de pasaros a comer o cenar por felfela. La decoración es preciosa y la comida es muy buena y a un precio medio. Para llegar pillad un taxi y pedidle que os lleve, la mayoria saben donde está.Don´t miss the opportunity of having a meal or a dinner in Felfela. The decoration is quite impressive and the food is very good for the value. To get there catch a taxi and ask him to take you there, almost all taxi drivers know where is located this restaurant.

In Egypt are all different type of restaurants. Food is cheap and good (although hygienic standards are lower than in Europe) Takeaways are everywhere and cheap. Prefere places well visited places. Takeaways with only a few customers should be avoided!
