Hurghada diving

by bpwillet

Scuba diving is a new sport to me. I have had some opportunities to dive in a few different types of water but nothing (yet) as spectacular as the Red Sea. It was like swimming in an aquarium. Absolutely unbelievable. There is tons of sea life to see all around you. The water temperature is perfect and the dive locations are phenomenal. If you go with a dive tour they will have certain areas that they will take you for your dives. The two areas we went to were amazing! Definitely bring a suit that you are comfortable diving/snorkeling in. The wind can pick up quite a bit at night by the time you start heading back to the port so you may want to pack a light sweater or jacket. You can bring all of your own gear or rent it from the tour companies. Either way they will help you to be outfitted best. We were using full wet suits and only one tank of air per dive.

Snorkaling

by travelinxs

Snorkaling can be best organised from either Hurghada of Sharm. Hurghada is otherwise a bit of a dump, but trips will include everything you need and can put you over reefs just a few metres deep, hopefully without dragging up half the coral with its anchor.

Red Sea

The unique underwater gardens offshore are some of the finest in the world, justifiably famous amongst divers. The warm waters here are ideal for many varieties of rare fish and coral reefs, which may also be observed through glass bottom boats. This area has many fine accommodations, usually offering warm and efficient service. Other nearby islands and destinations include the Shadwan Island (Diving, snorkeling, fishing but no swimming), Shaab Abu Shiban (Diving, snorkeling and swimming), Shaab el-Erg (Diving, fishing and snorkeling), Umm Gammar Island (Diving and snorkeling), Shasb Saghir Umm Gammae (Diving), Careless Reef (Diving), Abu Ramada Island (Diving), Shaab Abu Ramada (Fishing), Dishet el-Dhaba (Beaches and swimming), Shaab Abu Hashish (Beaches, diving, snorkeling, swimming and fishing), Sharm el-Arab (Diving, swimming and fishing and Abu Minqar Island (Beaches and...

Scubadiving in the Red Sea

by MalenaN

The world under the surface is wonderful in the Red Sea. So full of different and colourfull life. There are also many interesting wrecks to dive at, like Thistelgorm. On this picture you can see two Masked Butterfliefishes at Talata, Hurghada. It was taken during my UW-photo course, which I took at Colond Diving Center in Hurgada

Dream or Reality?

by Hatschepsut

Diving or even Snorkling in the Red Sea is like a dream. The colors in this underwaterworld are absolutly great. What you can see in TV is not nearly as beautiful as in live.If you don't like the water, you can go to the sea with a Glass-Boat so you can also see the underwater-world. You can find diving-Centers everywhere and Aqua-Centers for Snorkling. They have all the equipment you need.So you can try both for one day to find out, if you like it or not.

About snorkeling

Hurghada is worst than Sharm el Sheik. Mars alam is the best site (Sorry, I don't remember the right spelling).

Diving in Dahab

by Sibylla21

The Reef 200 outfit out of the Bedouin Moon hotel in Dahab was the best. Excellent dive shop and friendly, laid back people.
