Now that is something you can't do every day or everywhere .It was one the most funny thing I've done in Egypt...I will not tell you the hole story ,you should try yourself so you can feel on first hand.I'm sure you gonna enjoy!!

It is good to have free time to enjoy yourself and soak it all in. I lived in Cairo for 2 years and that wasn't enough! As touristy as it is, I loved going to the bazar Khan-a-Khalili. The spice market is great! There are some great side streets where you can get great photos. I normally didn't go on a Friday though. Times when things open can be iffy. Make sure to go saling on the Nile at sunset either in Cairo or Luxor. I can't remember the name, but there is an outdoor restaurant on a back street in Alexandria with great fish dishes. I'll try to remember the name.If you are interested in horse riding by the pyramids, I leased a horse for 2 years from MG Stables. I much prefer horses to the camels! Picture are included in my Cairo page.Have a great trip! I would love to visit again!

You can not go in Egypt and not visit the symbol of theirs civilization - PYRAMIDS! My suggestion is to choose local travel agency for every trip you take through the beauties of Egypt, including this one , because they are much cheaper and you can always negotiate for better price :)).They are also very safe so don't worry that something will go wrong if you didn't choose to go with your travel agency.Who can explain the real Egypt better than the local people? The most popular places for Staying in Egypt are Hurgada and Sharm El Shaikh. Both of them are nearly on the same distance from the Pyramids,so prepare to travel around 6 hours by bus.Usually the start of this tour is in the middle of night, the buses are acclimatized,so you will arrive in Cairo in the morning. This tour through Cairo includes city tour by bus, visit of the famous Museum of Tutankhamen(the museum really fascinate...

The Giza Plateau housing the Pyramids is practically within the Cairo city limits now. There is a Pizza Hut just outside the complex where one can have some meals. Also it is a good idea to get to Giza early in the morning to avoid the traffic rush but the Pyramids may not be fully visible at that time of the day if there is a bit of haze hanging around. We reached the Pyramids at around 8.30 am and could not get a decent view till 9.15 when the sun got into effect and the haze settled. This is the time when the tourist buses also start to arrive. We were advised to avoid the camel runners as they can be pretty hassling and we did just that. So be aware that there will be quite a lot of hassling from them. We had been to Egypt in December 2009-January 2010 and it used to get pretty warm in the afternoon even in those months.
I must confess that Hurghada was one of my biggest travelling disappointments: a very ugly place, dirty and dusty. The only thing that made me happy was my previous decision to replace the stay in Hurghada by Sharm-el-Sheik. Of course, the hotel in Gouna was great, and some other hotels in the area may be oasis in that desolation, but the only trump was... the sea. That splendid sea, that, I knew, was also waiting for us in Sinai.

One of the strongest reasons to visit Egypt is the Red Sea. Diving, or only snorkeling, there you may have a remarkable experience. Most of the people go to Hurghada, maybe because it is more accessible, maybe because the publicity. I think that Sinai is a better alternative. The hotels are also excellent (maybe better), the reefs are magnificent, and, if you don't want to fly there or drive from Cairo, you have a hovercraft from Hurghada at a reasonable price. And, being there, there's St, Katherine only a few kilometers away

Kom Ombo is the best point of the Nile cruise, standing in the deck, and watching the history coming closer, growing by the river, and inviting you to step outside to an easy visit. That's also the place where everybody their his boat party, and, knowing that, the way to the monument is lined with merchants selling you the local costumes everybody wears for diner. Under 42 degrees Celsius, we didn't appreciate much the ruins. As a matter of fact, we saw some bigger, some better preserved, some more decorated, but this location by the river values for itself.

Cairo is a huge, dirty, noisy, and marvellous town. We didn't have time to explore it extensively, maybe we will, in another visit. The strongest impressions that remain are Khan el-Khalili, the heart of old town, the City of the Dead, where thousands of people solved the housing crisis lodging in the cemeteries, Saladino's Citadel, and the Egyptian Museum. This one, was the most impressive collection of artefacts, fighting for space, in an interesting building that should be tem times greater to old the collection with the dignity it deserves. And Tutankhamum's treasure it's... well... go and see for yourself.

The best place to enjoy the red sea. Either snorkelling or diving, or only swimming, the hot waters and their rich fauna are in Sharm-el-Sheik at their best. Surrounded by the desert, local life is clearly pointed to the tourists needs and opportunities.

This is familiar to everyone. Everybody has seen the pyramids and sphinx from all the angles, in all lighting conditions. The only thing that the visit ads is… proportion. You know that everything is so big, but it’s different to feel it in place. Tito went in advance, and, as he approached the sphinx of Kheops, it was looking bigger and bigger, until he almost disappeared against a simple block of stone. One of the million blocks weighing several tons pilled in the building. God! We are really small…
