You can go into some of the local Adare houses here since they sell local baskets made from natural dyes and other jewelry. I found the baskets here a bit nicer than what I saw in Addis at the Markato. Would have bought some stuff here but had already made my purchases in Addis and there was not much room in my pack for the plane trip back to Addis...had I known I would have made room
What to buy: The have nice local baskets here for the ladies....mine are hanging on the wall in the house.
The stores in the US charge $90 a piece for them. In Ethiopia I paid $4 eahc for mine
What to pay: 5-10 bucks for baskets..jewelry you'll need to bargain on
Not a big place and you can walk through it in a couple of minutes..longer if you stop to smell the coffee. While I do not drink the stuff myself. Friends say that it lacks the bitter taste that other coffees have and is amongst the smoothest they have tasted.
What to buy: Fresh roast coffee
What to pay: Couple of bucks depending on how much you want
