A great place to go to at night when you are in Cape Coast, is the Oasis Beach Resort. It is situated at 300 metres west from Cape Coast Castle, and directly at the beach. You can enter is from both the city-side and the beach-side.
Besides quite a luxurious accommodation, Oasis also is the most popular hang out at night in the city. There is a large list of cocktails you can try here, and all of them are very cheap for Western standards. For about $ 1,- to 1,50 you can drink a very nice cocktail. Most of them are very nice: I tried at least 5 of them, and only the "African King" was disgusting!
At Oasis Beach Resort there often are parties at night too. Especially in the weekends they have celebrations that last until sunrise, but besides tourists and local party-people you will also see a lot of "wrong" people here you will try to sell you all kinds of "wrong things".

At 50 metres east from the Cape Coast Lagoon, at the mainroad to Elmina, you'll see a small but very nice drinking spot called Auntie Ama's. This is a small and very colourful place where it is good to have a drink.
Auntie Ama's is surrounded by colourfully painted fences and inside you can sit down in the shade, enjoy the nice music they play (from European and American classics to African rhythms) and have a nice, cool drink.
This place is no place where a lot of "obruni", white men come: places like this are mostly popular with the Ghanaians themselves.
