While kind of a tourist dump the food is not bad here and the location next to the castle in front of the beach make this place hard to ignore. Get a seat at the tables that overlook the beach and enjoy the ocean breeze with a cold beer and a good meal.
Favorite Dish: I had the curry seafood which I liked very much after my tour of the castle

I didn't really have a meal here, at Oasis Beach Resort, but I did have a fresh pineapple for lunch here. At a hot and sweaty afternoon this is a great spot to get some refreshment: with your feet in the sand, the sea only 10 metres away, palmtrees providing you with shade and a fresh and juicy pineapple in front of you.
Besides the pineapple, that always is delicious in Ghana, they also have "paw paw", papaya and lots of other dishes. Too bad the Castle Restaurant is 200 metres away, so the choice where to eat is easy. Nothing beats Castle Restaurant...

A very special location for your dinner is the rooftop restaurant of Sammo's Guesthouse. Weither you are a guest or not, you can have dinner here with a great view over the sea, the lagoon and the city of Cape Coast.
The food is not as special as the view, but still it is good value. The meals basically consists of either chicken or fish together with chips, jollof rice, fried rice or curry rice. I had my personal favorite: chicken with jollof rice, and it was a very good meal.
The price of the food is very good: between 30.000 and 40.000 cedis per meal: $ 3 to 4,-. One thing you really should think of however: it take like forever until they serve the food. I had to wait 45 minutes for my food, and the personnel reacts like it is pretty normal. It obviously happens more often here.
But, with a good meal, a nice cool Star Beer and some nice music playing, this really is a great place to enjoy the sunset.

Ghana is not the country where you have to go to if you like good food. The local Ghanaian dishes are (to my opinion though) not nice at all, and other food is prepared in a decent way, but never that great you'll remember it.
But, in Cape Coast there is a restaurant that is completely different. The restuarant that is sitauted directly next to the famous Cape Coast Castle, is a brilliant restaurant where eating is a celebration. Castle Restaurant is the best restaurant in Ghana if you ask me.
The restaurant first of all has a great location, directly next to the Castle and at 30 metres from the sea. The sunset is great from here. You can sit at the roofed terrace with a great view of everything. The personnel is not that fantastic and they can even be quite rude sometimes, but the food...
Favorite Dish: ...In the 3 days I stayed in Cape Coast, I ate here 3 times. Especially the seafood is the best you can find in the country. I had a delicious fish soup that was filled with white fish, prawns and lobster. Quite a heavy lunch, but very, very nice. And the best meal I had when I was in Ghana definitely was the Grilled Snapper I had there. A big fish, without any sauce, simply because the fish didn't need a sauce. It was spiced perfectly and the fish was soft and juicy.
The prices at the Castle Restaurant surprisingly are not more expensive than average: about 40.000-50.000 ($ 4-5,-) for a main dish.
You haven't been to Cape Coast if you haven't been to the Castle Restaurant!

BEWARE OF CREDIT CARD FRAUD at this restaurant. I used my credit card at this restaurant, and my card kept getting "punched in" multiple times.

Kakum rainforest café is the largest and maybe the only eating place inside the park.
