  • Tip Rating:
  • First take a small time to adjust to the climate. You cna start at cocobeach (it is in Accra, between Ngua and Teshi). It is about 20 minutes drive from the airport.
Then it depends on yourself. You can stay there to have a beach holiday (not too many obroni , white people).
If you like to visit the historic castles you cna visit Cape coast, Elmina (2 hours drive by the bus transport of STC).
You can go to the centre of the country. Kuamsi with a lot of traditional places. You can find there the famous kente clothes and very good art work

If you like people, you will like the Ghanians. I never experienced a combination of friendlyness and self esteem as in Ghana

  • The Botanical Gardens, they are very interesting, although a bit of a drive they're absolutely gorgeous

My personal best memory is of going to Pong farms, (located on the way up to the dam)and going horse riding throught the farm, seeing the locals and riding down by the paddy fields and villages

  • Tip Rating:
  • Travel by boat down the Volta river; visit Cape Coast and the 'castles'; check out the Accra discos and nightlife; attend a village festival (one is held almost every week somewhere in Ghana).

The great new friends I made. Most Ghanaians are very loving people.

  • Tip Rating:
  • see the Kukum rain and walk through the tree tops. Once you get your 'sea legs' under you the sights are beauty beyond compare.

The first morning I awoke to that same desert smell, and the bright morning sun glistening through the window. As consciousness slowly washed over me a roster crowed loudly outside of my window and I heard a goat bleat in the distance. My early morning thoughts faded back to a time when I was very young, living on a small farm back home in the country. This place felt comfortable, like home, this morning. The sound of a squeaky bicycle pulled my thoughts back to Africa. The bicyclist was no doubt a young man on his way to market to sell his goods, then buy food for the evening meal for his family.
