Tourists are not allowed to enter the park on foot without being accompanied by an armed ranger. They give you a certain sense of security, but are also useful of course in knowing where to spot animals, how to track moving animals, lots of information about the animals you do see and being able to identify any birds for instance.

When you make the arrangement for your walking safari, you should ask explicit to explore the northern area.
When you go for the southern part you’ll come across small settlements and large junkyards.
And you might return a little disappointed.
