One drink you really should try when you are in Wa is Pito. Pito is a locally brewed beer and it is available anywhere at the roadsides or at markets.

The smell of the drink is not very nice and it looks pretty disgusting too. The first sip of it even tastes bad, but when you drink more of it (at least for me) it starts to taste pretty good. Pito can be bought by a full liter which really is a lot! But since that only costs 5.000 cedis ($ 0,50) it is worth trying.

The beer has to be drunk out of a calabas, and -the biggest disadvantage- it attracks loads of flies. The calabas, the bottle or the table when you spoil a little bit is covered by flies in no time, so you should cover the drink well all the time.

You can even order Pito at a bar like KG Spot. Even though they don't have it theirselves, they will go and get it for you!
