ENGLISH - In 1995, ie before the riots in 1999: Very nice people, I could travel by car, crossing all the country, without serious security problems! Although it was a quite adventurous trip, as two tires had to be repaired without apropriate means (see picture), even scotch ribbon (I'm not sure of the right word) was used! - PORTUGUÊS - Em 1995, antes portanto dos problemas de 1999: Um povo descontraído e alegre, pude atravessar o país todo, de carro, sem problemas de segurança. Embora tenha sido uma viagem um bocado complicada, sem meios para reparar dois dos pneus (ver fotografia), até fita gomada foi usada!
FRANÇAIS - Un peuple décontracté et gai, j'ai pu traverser le pays sans problèmes de sécurité. Malgré que ce fut un voyage un peu compliqué sans moyens convenables pour réparer deux des pneus (voir photo), même du scotch (c'est comme ça que vous dites? un ruban auto-colant) a été employé pour la réparation.

ENGLISH - Did you know that this country has an area changing about 25 % (I must check this figure) deppending of tide level? - PORTUGUÊS - Sabiam que a área deste país varia cerca de 25% (tenho de verificar este número) conforme o nível da maré? - FRANÇAIS - Saviez-vous que la surface de ce pays a un variation de l'ordre de 25 % suivant le niveau de marée?

I miss when I'm away from Guinea-Bissau their streets full of people selling food and the vegetation in all the country: so exuberant!!!!

Guinea Bissau in Western Africa has a tropical monsoon climate with a distinct (terrible!) hot and wet season from May to October and cooler dry season from November to April. Which is more marked in the northeastern highlands. The annual average temperature is between 26ºC - 27ºC degrees (believe me terribly hot!). The heaviest rainfall occurs along the coast and in the immediate hinterland averaging 3250mm per year. The dry season is characterized by dry dusty winds blowing down from the Sahara and lower humidity.

What clothing I recommend you??? Well, please take: light to tropical weight year-round. Rainwear during the rainy season.

Everything is lovely in this country!

Highlights that I believe interestings to do there!
-Wandering through the colonial jumble of Bissau
-Boat trips to the Bijagos Archipelago
-Exploring the ruined fort at Cacheau where Sir Francis Drake and Sir John Hawkins did battle with portuguese in 1567.

In Bissau, of course:
-National Museum. Complex Escolar, Av. 14 Novembro
-Centro Artistico Juvenil
-Presidential Palace
-Pidjiguiti Monument. Av. Amílcar Cabral.
-Mercado Centrale
-Mercado de Bandim
BOLAMA ISLAND:
Beaches!!!!!!!!!! Specially in the south-west area
BUBAQUE ISLAND (I'm an expert about this island, if you have doubts only ask!):
Delightful place
Market, bakery, small cafés and post office.
I'll put more info in brief and pics!!!!!!

Peaceful place. The picture shows my 'happiness' face.

One of the best things that have Guinea Bissau are: CHILDREN! This is a really young country.

When I'm away from Guinea-Bissau I miss the beautiful smile of children. :-D
