Treetops

Favorite thing: Manyt of the rooms in Treetops look out over the waterhole where lots of animals gather and dawn and dusk (and sometimes during the day too).

Fondest memory: There is a roof patio with chairs where you can look out over the waterhole and the park beyond. Being so high up, you can see for quite some distance, and easier spot approaching animals.

Baboon

Favorite thing: Baboons have a reputation for being agressive, and it is true that they may attack and kill smaller animals. We were told to stay well away from them on our way back to the vehicles.

Bush baby

Favorite thing: This cute little bush baby came to the rooftop terrace too, enjoying the food laid on for it. They have such incredibly large eyes that appear to glow red in the night.

Buffalo

Favorite thing: Large, heavy and aggressive, you do not want to mess with a buffalo!

Fondest memory: Going to sleep at night with a herd of buffalo grazing and chomping right outside our window, was quite mind-blowing.

Birds

Favorite thing: While we were enjoying an afternoon tea, the birds were well looked after with a few crumbs. I particularly love the Glossy Starling, with its amazing sheen glistening in the sunlight.

Waterbuck

Favorite thing: A large, robust antelope which as its name suggests, is usually found in conjunction with water. Groups of up to ten animals will graze in woodland or open grassland.
