It is the first - and last - time I have seen a table with a gliding "Lazy Susan" in the centre of the table for passing condiments and side dishes. Basically, a small strip of the centre of the table was converted to glide on runners. A great idea!more
'Professor' Lopez demonstrates the coriolus effect on water exiting a funnel (with a toothpick laying on top of the water) at three points: above the equator, at the equator, below the equator. Above and below the equator the water went clock- and counter-clock-wise (can't remember which happened for which). At the equator, the toothpick didn't turn to the left or right.
Unique Suggestions: Take this as pure fun, hokus pokus, or even verifiable science -- it certainly makes going over the equator an experience that is more memorable than driving over a line in the road. If you wish, certificates are sold to proove your accomplishment, and there is the obligatory craft store, where, with a little bargaining, you may come home with a keepsake you will always treasure. At least the photo opportunity is free!
Fun Alternatives: Drive on if you will, and know they can't pull the wool over your eyes. You've crossed the equator either way!Related to:
