There are matatus that run constantly throughout the day and even though the night to Mombasa town either terminating at “Docks” or “Ferry”. Most pass through Bondeni to Mombasa town centre but sometimes at night a matatu might go through Saba Saba.
3 bus companies (Busways, Chania Shuttle, and Channia Express) have ticket offices in town that run direct buses to Nairobi the two Chanias even go on to Thika. I travelled with Chania shuttle and it only cost me 900 Ksh to Nairobi which is a lot cheaper than some of the other companies from Mombasa.
