night bar by croisbeauty This picture was taken in the outskirts of Mombasa. I was awarned in my Nairobi hotel (and not only) not to take my camera with when strolling around in the dark because it might be stollen. Therefore, I didn't take any night-time pic in Nairobi. This is pretty much the same type of the bar I visited in Nairobi, with live music, several bars and good inexpensive food. The atmosphere was very relaxed and cool.
No dress code at all, put some casual cloths suitable for dancing because you cannot resist not to dance here. This people, boys and girls, have rhytm in the blood and they dance extremely good. Leave a Comment Theme: Live Music

Casablanca is both in one, very good restaurant and fine nightclub, actually the best in town as far as I am concerned. It is arranged in arabian style and offering very relaxed atmosphere. Interiors looks alike to beduin tents and decorated in a same style. Huge open space in front remind to arabian courtyards with the fire-place in its central part. If cold night, and in August it usually is, you can get a kind of small portable stove with open fire to warm you up.
Be smart in your casual dress because locals do expect it from the mzungu (whites). Leave a Comment Theme: NightclubDirections: Can't tell about direction because I took taxi to get to Casablanca, both times I was there. From the city centre to Casablanca taxi should cost you no more than 700 ksh. Remember, negotiate the price for ride before entering to taxi.

Florida 2000 used to be the best night club in Nairobi, so I was told by the locals, comparing to Casablanca, however, it looks like an second classed club. Interiors is above the usual Kenyan standards, especially the dancing hole, but service nad the ambient is what makes the difference. Besides, there is no open air space in Florida and existing air condition isn't good enough if club full of people.
Casual cloths for guys, if dressed smart girls will approach to you immedietely, no matter if with the companion. Local girls wearing kind of cloths which accentuate the beauty and attraction of their bodies, however, some do it good and some not. Club Afrique by croisbeauty Club Afrique, in the area of Westlands, is one of my favourite clubs. Here one can hear and feel the real sound of African music. The program starts with the live music, performed by the bands from all of Africa. At the time I was there, it was the band from Zaire, excellent musicians and very hot dancers. In the second part of the program DJ was playing local Kenyan music, a mix of Luo, Luhuya, Kikuyu and Kamba traditional music. Do not miss it, African music is just great. Kengeles is one of my favourite places in Nairobi, here I spend two or three hours each and every day. It is situated in the Koniange Street, right opposite to the Kenya Comfort hotel which is my usual stay in Nairobi. The reason I am spending so much time here is descent espresso, in the first place and smoking area, which is not of less importance for me. I just can't drink coffee without smoking. Kengeles is also friendly place to me where I feel very comfortable surrounded by the staff whom I get to know three years ago. Some of them become my dear friends. In the evening hours it is dancing place too, with DJ during the week and live band on weekends. Those who attend this place are young people working in the nearby banks and prestigeous companies. It is place for the well standing young Kenyans. Kengeles offers very descent food too, good english kind of breakfasts and equally good grilled meat or fish dishes. The breakfast cost 200-300 kes, while lunch or dinner up to 600 kes.
During the day it is usual business cloths while in the evenings both business and casual. Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and DrinkingAddress: Koniange Street

Simmers by croisbeauty Simmers is one of my favourite places in Nairobi, I used to come round it each and every day because it offers free smoking area. It is kinda sleepy place during the day, offering affordable cost of drinks and descent inexpensive nyama choma (grilled dishes). Many locals from nearby offices attend Simmers during lunch break. During nights it becomes lively place, sometimes wild but never out of controll. I like it coz of live music, performed by pretty good local bands supported by very good dancers. by Homanded Imagine our surprise, being Cuban when we arrived at the Intercontinental hotel and found us listening to (and dancing) to Cuban music! Sounds of Celia Cruz, Willie Chirino and Gloria Estefan all belted out phonetically by very talented musical group who are local Kenyans. Had a wonderful time. Drinks are strong (they don't skimp on their alcohol) and the ambiance is very trendy.
Nice casual wear, local Kenyan women were dressed in very attractive head wraps and beautiful print african dresses. Leave a Comment

gettin on it! by littlebush Nairobi has pretty good nightlife. Carnivores has bars and entertainment most nights and is good value. Florida is a nightclub which wanted too much money as cover charge so we blew it out and ended up in New Florida. Cover charge, just 200 shillings. Its packed at weekends, with locals, westerners and hookers! Drinks are expensive but get a crowd of ya and get hammered! Theme: Other
