A wolverine hard drive - ranging in price from USD $99.00 - $300.00 is a convinient, easy and safe way to download and free up your flash cards. Only about the size of a small calculater and easily fitting in your pocket or suitcase, we never travel w/out one. It was the best investment we've made in photo gear. When full (we have a 2GB card which holds 1800 pics), we simply download the card unto the wolverine and reformat the card. Voila, card is empty and we're ready to continue shooting. When we arrive at an internet cafe, we either burn a copy of the folder now stored in the Wolverine unto DVD or disk and keep a copy safely held in the hard drive of the Wolverine. Our wolverine cost us $120.00, is a 10GB drive and holds about 10,000 pics! We never leave home w/out it! Leave a Comment

long sleeves needed for game reserves by croisbeauty, 4 more photos I am travelling with my samsonite bag, actually half bag half knapsack, huge enough to put half of my wardrobe in it. It is waterproof of course and very resistant.
Two pairs of trousers, two or three bermudas, all made of cotton fabrics. Dozen t-shirts, 3 or 4 nice polo-shirts, 3 or 4 shirts, all made of cotton fabrics. Jacket of light leather is what you need for chilly evenings in Nairobi or northern parts of Kenya. Two pairs of sneekers and one pair of safari type shoes, game reserves might be very dusty. Sports wear with long sleeves might be very usefull too. As for underwaer, all made out of cotton.
Tabletes against malaria are a must, don't go there without because you need to take one every week.
don't forget to take your camera and memory cards with huge capacity. Additional lens is recommendable especially for safari tours. Leave a Comment

Visitors should not walk in towns or public areas in their swim-wear as this is against African culture and offends a large section of the community. Nude bathing is not allowed. Leave a Comment

My wife and I put all our clothes in separate suitcases. her luggage was lost so she had nothing to wear other than what she wore on the plane and a t-shirt she put in her carryon. From now on we will put 50% of each others clothes in each suitcase so if one gets lost you still have some clothes. Leave a Comment

Get in close...with the right camera! by K.Knight Comfortable shoes for walking, hat, sunglasses, a jacket or fleece are all essential.
Sunscreen, mosquito repellent and toilet paper are all a must. Having said this, I feel that headache tablets are a must when travelling in Africa. Remember that Nairobi is called the "rooftop of africa" and some travellers do suffer from mild altitude sickness in the form of a nagging headache for the first day or two.
I always travel with my Minolta SLR camera with 2 lenses (1x 35/80 and 1x 75/300 zoom), a two times converter, a polariser for both lenses, a spare battery and 10 spare rolls of 400 asa film (36) with 1 loaded into the camera. Leave a Comment
