Tandoori Restaurant and Bar: Local nightspot

by Acirfa

Great local bar and restaurant. Pool table and general socialising amongst the locals and tourists. As usual it's important to be aware of the local ladies looking to secure an evenings entertainment. Watch pockets and be assertive, this usually does the trick.A delight to meet a variety of people and enjoy an evening relaxing.

Shakatak: Dance the night through till dawn

by Acirfa

Great fun, great music, well organised nightclub. Diani Beach, just outside of the Sea Lodge and frequented by locals and tourists alike. There is a restaurant at ground level and a nightclub downstairs.

Crocodile Camp: Crocodile feeding in Tsavo

by Myndo

Ok, in the Bush there is not much you can do, as soon as the sun goes down, it tends to get very dark. If you are lucky you have a Camp with electricity - but mostly the light is barely enough to be able to read or write something. No TV, no Radio (except you took one with you).So what you do? Normally you gather around the Camp fire, look how it burns and exchange stories of what you saw during the day or whatever.Crocodile Camp has the much mentioned Tourist attraction of Crocodile feeding at night.Punctually at 9 o' clock one of the workers of the camp will come with a bucket of meat, stand at the wall that seperates the Camp from the crocodiles area - the river in front of it- and begin shouting. That sounds like: "Cooooooome Caroolinaaaa, coooooome ..... Cooooooome Susannaaaahh ... cooooome ....... ....... coooooome Marinaaaaaam cooooooooome ...." I don't know if actually all the...

Samburu National Park: Hyena outside our tent!!

by Thumbee

For unparallelled spooky fun, spend the night in a tent in Kenya's Samburu N.P. The hyena calls from around your campsite while you feast on nyama choma- swahili preparation of roast meat on coals, are just the harbingers of an unforgettable night surrounded by a pack of hyenas rummaging through the left-overs of your dinner barely 15 yards away from your tent, while the more adventurous of hyenas will come right up to your tent without your having to do anything!!! How do you know? You can hear them laugh!! And if you have slept through it all, then you can see their paw-marks all over the mud around your campsite the next morning! How's that for some nightlife!

local bar

by beccyandjohn

this is in side the local bar with our friends from the beach, this night i think we was in there for a long time , and it was dark out side , so as we were walking to our hotel the streets were all lit with candels and little fires with people cooking on them, the smell is something you will renember, not a bad thing

Fort Jesus: Sound and Light Show - Meal

by beccyandjohn

After the show we had our evening meal, there were tables ready for us and the men that greated us on arrival with the tourches were now stood around all the tables, they didnt say anything, the atmosphere was great, so different. The food was excellent, picture 2 show John enjoying a baby lobster and this was our starter. We drank wine from goblets.

by beccyandjohn

We originally book to do a evening boat cruise, but this was latter cancelled and so we choose to do the trip 'Mombasa by Night' which was excellent. We started the trip by driving towards Mombasa were we boarded a Dhow, on here we enjoyed complimentary drinks and nibbles whilst enjoying some local music, these guys were ace.

Sun N Sand: Based in the Hotel

by beccyandjohn

Most of the night life is based around the hotels, a few people we spoke with got taxis in to the near by village, but to tell you the truth were a bit unsure about going out late at night. The hotel put entertainment on every evening, things like karaoke, affrican dancers and acrobates. The hotel have its own animation team which get people involved. Dressed-up / Casual, how ever you feel but no shots or bikinis. 3/4 are acceptable.

Florida 2000 is SEEDY..

by Osmun79

Florida 2000, known for it's good music, is also home to con artists, drug dealers, and lots of local prostitutes trolling for desperate white men. The other people I know who have gone there have reported being harrased by prostitutes or by their pimps. Because of this, it's probably better to avoid the place and go to other local hangouts in the area such as Sharks.

Modern Green Bar: Sultry & Sweatty

by Grantman

Packed with drunken locals and hungry prostis, sweatty hot and dripping sultry, luke-warm Tuskers bought from a bar that was caged to protect the bartender from the customers. The people watching was of me and my buddy. Things grew interesting when I took a step back and inadvertently knocked a beer out of a prosti's hand. My immediate offer to replace the beer was thoroughly inadequate, she made a scene, wanted far more, and had the crowd in support. Bartered, smiled and spoke quickly, bought beers for her & her peers, and eventually got a seat to watch the nigth unfold. We departed before the vampires descended. A unique experience that I can still smell, feel and almost taste. An easy place to get into deep trouble, quickly. Beware. Anything, watch your wallet.
