lakeside hoteli in Kisumu

by sphynxxs

a hoteli in Kenya is a basic restaurant, usually a place where you find more local people than tourists. At the lakeshore of Lake Victoria in Kisumu you find a number of them, some of them with quite pretentious names (like Serena, a luxury hotel chain in East Africa), usually very busy and crowded with people who want to have some tilapia with kale and ugali. The food is excellent (no cutlery though, you have to use your fingers). Don´t eat there if you feel nervous about the cook using lakewater though - I doubt very much they use bottled water, and if you walk past the kitchen space you will notice it is a bit rustic
