BIG-FIRE.Like the kind I had in ZIMBABWE!
They loved it. We kept doing it. To this day,
these guys still do fires like this. They talk
to other travelers about the fires we had!

Hard to get all this "stuff" in order. After a long
drive to AMBOSELI, then the GAME DRIVES!
Trying to get together in the darkness! But,
you have to spend time on the drives. If that means less time for set-up! TOO BAD!

When staying the game park, you're expected to return to your lodge by 7.00pm so there isn't much to do but either stay in the room or hang around the hotel. Thankfully the lodge organizes some activities for guest to spend the time after dinner.

Sometimes, the most enjoyable time can be spent doing nothing. This is partiucarly true of Kenya's National parks.
In Amboseli, quietly sitting outside our cabin's patio we could listen to elephants trumpeting in the early morning or a lion calling out to his mates to mark his territory in the middle of the night.
If you've ever watched a television special and only seen/heard this on TV you will gain a new appreciation once you witness it for yourself.
Make the most of your trip, absorb the sounds, the smells and the surroundings which is Kenya. You never know if you'll have another opportunity to say "Hey, I just heard a lion roar"! Leave a Comment Theme: Other

The Amboseli Serena organizes Maasai tribal dance performance at the lodge so for those who would like to watch it, you will be able to every night. It is inclusive in your package and there are no admission fees.
Watch the Maasai performers as they sing traditional songs and dance around the stage area, including the high leaps by the male dancers

A musician sings with his guitar after dinner time at the Amboseli Serena Lodge. It is especially nice to sit and watch him sing some Kenyan music as we warmed ourselves by the fire in the chilly night.
This night entertainment is held behind the lodge's restaurant. If you're lucky, you can spot some wildlife in the bush coming for a drink or maybe to enjoy the music too

There is a small waterhole behind the Amboseli Serena Lodge where animals come to have a drink of water. The area is covered by trees and bush but more often that not, you will be surprised by the sight of a Waterbuck or other animals that dare venture close to humans.
While the animals are free to roam, the guests are not. We were advised to keep a distance when the animals are around.
