Luggage and bags: A small to medium sized bags is sufficient to carry your essentials (unless you're planning on buying lots of local souvenirs), and easy to cart around in your vehicle
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Cotton or natural fiber material is better for comfort and always wear comfortable walking shoes e.g trainers or hiking boots. A hat is also handy when the sun is up
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: I never forget to use sunscreen before I go out into the sun. While you may think you won't burn by sitting in the vehicle, but the wind & dryness can accelerate a burn even with little sun exposure
Photo Equipment: My digital camera is sufficient for some candid shots but if you're a photography buff, an SLR with a long lens is better to capture wildlife from afar.
Miscellaneous: Don't forget to bring lots of water because once you're out on a game drive, there's no rest stops to get any when you're thirsty
