The Roof of Africa Rally is held annually in the Kingdom of Lesotho. The event, which is based in the Capital city of Maseru, celebrates it’s 34th. Anniversary this year, and has become known throughout the world as one of the " " toughest Off Road Races " "

Equipment: ALTITUDE varies from 1,500 masl (meters above sea level) in the lowlands to nearly 3,000 masl in the mountains.
ROUTE is sand and rock tracks with hard surfaces and donkey passes through mountain passes which are generally very steep and rocky.. Several deep rivers may have to be crossed depending on weather conditions.
Bikes are divided into various classes;125, 200, 250,open and seniors (who follow the less difficult car route. Quad racers are also catered for and follow the car route. The conditions favour light two stroke machines and the event is normally won by a 250cc Class machine. Any types of tires may be used. Lights are optional but recommended.
