Visit Libya if you are interested in ancient history and cultures. Night life (other than restaurants) does no really exist - it is a strict Muslim country with alcohol totally forbidden. Socialising mostly takes place within private homes.
Dress Code: Very conservative - men avoid short above the knee. Women, avoid tight clothes and always carry a headscarf with you wherever you go.

Libya should not be your destination of choice if you are after wild nightlife. Our evening entertainment consisted of watching the sunset, having a nice meal and a glass of mint tea, and being in bed long before 10pm.

None in the public domain coming under what europeans would call 'nightlife'. It takes time to locate interesting places - walk and talk. You may find some company in some of the mid-range hotels and cafes but caution is recommended as everything/everywhere is watched.

Nightlife does not exist. A stroll by the paved promenade at the shore in Tripoli centre is worth it. Lot's of people, popcorn sellers, etc. But don't worry, shopkeepers never ever hassle tourists in Lybia, not even in the souqs.

If your idea of night live consists of more than hanging around with your pals sipping a glass of mint tea, forget it! There is absolute prohibition, besides degenerate Western clubs haven“t spread throughout most of the country.
