From the park headquarters (ANGAP) it is only about a kilomter to a small local fishing village. Here you can watch the locals fish and see them repairing theier nets. You can buy some fresh fish if you like. The view from here across the beach and the rest of the island is also stunning.

On your way back to Maroantsetra you can ask the boat to stop here. There are some intreresting rock carvings made by dutch sailors back in the 17th century.
