i hated spiders and creepy crawlies before going to madagascar, now with the size of them there i don't mind them!!!
When staying at Berenty park be careful of the food provided by the restaurant, we all caught severe diarrhea for days. Even deepfried food triggered it.
Tip: when buying souvenirs at stalls, don't pay the price that's asked but bargain first.
Make sure the ice cubes in your drink are made from bottled water. Don't drink from taps. Brush teeth with bottled water also.
For internal flights (Air Madagascar): just before you enter the plane, point out your luggage so as to make sure it comes with you on the plane!
Be carefully in the capital 'Antananarivo', don't let them see your things of a certain value, certenly not when it is dark. It's better to leave it in the hotel.
