Chizumulu Island is the smaller of the two islands but absolutely worth a visit. It’s a perfect place for relaxation, snorkelling and swimming! According to the manager of “Kubira Lodge” there is only one crocodile living on the Island “ … and this one is a friendly one!” Better don´t insist on that!
There are no special sites to visit but in the middle of the island there is a hill which allows a nice view on to Likoma Island.
If you run out of reading stuff: on Chizumulu is a small library where books can be borrowed if you stay at “Kubira Lodge”
There is no bank, no hospital and the Ilala II is coming only once a week!
The post office can arrange transcontinental phone calls.
