Mua is a small town between the Monkey Bay turn off and Balaka. The only (and good reason) to go there is the mission. Since about a hundred years there are missionaries working. Today there is a church, school, hospital and craft shop, where tourists can find carvings of high quality that were produced by the local people. The prices are fix. There is also a small zoo.
The people are very friendly and will be happy to show you around!

Another favourite place for many travellers is Senga Bay / "Livingstonia Beach Hotel".
Senga Bay is at the end of the road from Salima to the lake. It’s a small village located for several kilometres along the lakeside with some places to stay.
The carving and souvenir sellers are probably the most aggressive in the country!
For the travellers who don´t mind spending a littlbit more money there is the very nice located but expensive "Livingstonia Beach Hotel" with the adjected "Steps Camp Site".
This campsite is probably the best in the country. There is also a money exchange at the entrance!
